Matt Chernoff joins Rude Awakening Sept. 2

I think this is a great move on 680's part. I enjoyed listening to Matt a couple of weeks back
when he paired up with Rude during morning drive when Perry Laurentino was vacationing and
also last Friday when he was substituting for Buck and Kincade.

At least he should be happy he is now on a station with a clearer signal and a further
reach from Atlanta during daylight hours.

I'm not, ahem, a FAN of the move, quite frankly. I never much cared for Chernoff's shtick at the Zone, though being paired with Chuck Smith was no career-boosting step.

Chernoff is a pretty solid host. Sharper than Laurentino and more rounded. Certainly a good setup guy. He was getting a bit full of himself and it came across that way on the air in his latter days at the Zone. But, perhaps his Zone ouster and personal adjustments (divorce) have given him a touch of humility. If that's the case, this could be a very good move for 680.

He certainly probably relishes going head to head with Brisket Boy.

Chernoff is def a blowhard, but ANYBODY is more bearable than Lorentino. Except Dimino and Beau Bock, of course.
