Matt Levine @ KHOU

I guess this shows that I haven't watched KHOU News in Houston for a while. Just saw Matt Levine (formerly of Fox 26) doing the weather. When did he join the Channel 11 staff?

Sorry to hear Matt will be leaving Houston. I was hoping that Belo was trying to get some talent back into it's newscast. Haven't watched them for some time because they seem to want to sensationalize and not really focus on the news (if that makes any sense). Well... wish Matt luck in Seattle. Our loss is definately their gain.

I didn't care for Matt when he was at Fox 26 but he seems to be a better fit on KHOU. Since Doc left and they replaced him with Gene Norman, I haven't been watching KHOU. I just don't care for Gene's presentation. I have since moved my eyes to KTRK or KRIV.

It seems that since Steve Smith left, KHOU has just gone down hill. I've been pretty much fixed on ch 13 for several years now, just because there are people still there that you know, and their presentation is more informative. With 11 and 2, every story is a crisis and a tragedy ( and in most cases, you can tell that the report is not sincere in their concerns). Again good luck to Matt in Seattle

Matt to KING/NWCN???

The Oregon Media Critic website is reporting that KING?NWCN met Nick Allard is moving to KGW in Portland as am met. Perhaps Matt is going to KING/NWCN to replace Nick. Since KHOU and KING/NWCN are co-owned by Belo, that might explain Matt's temporary fill-in work at KHOU before he leaves for Seattle.

The only disagreement that I have with that statement is Owen Conflenti. The guy is extremely passionate in his delivery. The day a couple of months back when that knucklehead drove his kids off in Greens Bayou, Owen had tears welling up in his eyes as he broke the story. I'd take him on my newscast anyday.

Thanks PD. I guess that shows that I haven't watched channel 2 in a while. I'll have to check Owen out...
