As the tragic story of KTRH morning host Matt Patrick’s throat cancer story came to an end, the capable fill-in host was Bob Frantz; incorrectly, I assumed Frantz was a Houston iHeart Media employee – found out today that was not true when Bob Frantz announced himself as a fill-in host for Larry Elder on Salem Media’s KNTH and said he is employed by WHK in Cleveland, a Salem Media affiliate – I knew that mutual friends Bob and Matt hailed from NE Ohio, so it made sense that Frantz would be a part of Matt’s unfortunate life-ending cancer event – but, when was the last time a competing radio company would permit its employee to appear, and continue to appear, on another company’s airwaves? This morning, Bob Frantz was still the morning host on iHeart’s KRTH, while hours later at 5pm, he was the host on Salem Radio – might he be fortunate enough to be the ultimate Free Agent on various companies' programs?
