Matty versus Lander

Anyone know how these 2 stack up against eachother in the morning ratings?
2 totally different styles on 2 similar radio stations. Personally I think Matty is better and more natural sounding, but I'm thinking Lander must do pretty well to stick around this long. Last person who I think gave Matty any competition besides Lander was JR for 3 years at 'ZOU in the early 90's.

They target two different demos. Matty/kiss skew a little younger so you cant really match them show for show. Lander and MIX are going after women 25 to 40 something and Kiss is strictly a female 18-34 station.

so should I feel akward about being a 26 year old male who listens? hehe

They don't sound all that different to me. The occasional song followed by 15 minutes of talking about random crap. Lander also likes to throw in the occasional 50 Cent song, or something else Urban sounding, which kind of clashes with the rest of Mix, but it must work somehow if he's still doing his morning show.

Matty used to be syndicated on WWKX/Woonsocket-Providence, RI years ago. Is he still syndicated on any other stations?

I believe that was around 1995-96, and didn't last very long; He was syndicated for something like 6 months. He was also on WKZS/Auburn-Porland "Kiss 99.9". The Boston Radio Archives has a syndicated promo for Matty's show and WKZS somewhere on their site.

I think I recall reading somewhere that Matty lost the syndication after a bad stunt or some event occured on the show. Am I just making things up, or did this happen?

No it wasnt like that the show just didnt do anything. He went through a period where that show was awful and thats when he tried to sydicate to to Maine and South Carolina like another clear channel station that probably had to take it.
