I wonder why "Maude" has never shown up on the classic TV schedule. It had a young Adrienne Barbeau, Rue McClanahan, Hermoine Bagsley, and "Maude" herself...Bea Arthur.

Maude was on TV Land back in the late 90s. I remember for one full week they had a
"Maude-A-Thon".
I think that show stayed on TV Land for a few years. I do remember listening to a talk show one night on my way to work ( Boston's WBZ 1030 ? ) and someone called in asking about Maude and why it was dropped from TV Land. If I remember corretly the host said the show was dropped because it was "dated and poorly aged".
BTW, same time TV land aired Maude, a handful of episodes turned up on Nick@Nite.
Maude's first season is on DVD though

Maude is like many shows that were well done but topical. So unless you were alive during when it was on the first time or a history nut the jokes won't make sense. A case in point is SNL; a friend of mine born in 1978, purchased the first season on DVD. I had to explain the significance of many of the running gags, like "Francisco Franco is still dead", the whole Gerald Ford is clumsy thing and of course Claudine Longet.

Not in Los Angeles - KTTV (Fox 11) not only runs I Love Lucy daily, but also runs the later 1 hour "Lucy in Connecticut" shows.
The episode I saw recently featured Lucy, Ricky, Fred, and Ethel all sitting around adjusting the TV set, each one arguing about the proper brightness, contrast, vertical hold, etc. It was probably screamingly funny back in the early 50s when TV was new technology for Americans. It was VERY dated, but it was still funny> Of course, I'm 55 and still remember having to adjust the TV.
It's interesting that Maude reruns were canceled for being dated, but the equally dated "All in the Family" ran for years until recently despite scripts that (for example) featured Archie and Meathead arguing constantly about Nixon and Vietnam, etc.
