Maurice DuBois Leaving CBS Evening News

Meg Oliver could be another option. She did Up to the Minute. Or Bari could pick Jericka Duncan, currently on the weekend newscasts. Weekend news is often where big stars have to start.
I really like Jericka. She has more energy on set than either of the current anchors. And she’s got journalists chops.

I agree, she's quite good. Probably the best (aside from Elaine Quijano) of the series of Weekend Evening Anchors they've trotted out over the last 15 years since Russ Mitchell left.

Meg Oliver has been in and out at CBS for years. Her stint on Up to the Minute many years ago isn't enough to make her a name.
Major Garrett is a great reporter, but is wooden at the anchor desk. He'd be a lateral move from Dickerson.

Honestly it's a bit of an indictment of the last couple of waves of CBS management that with all their platforms including CBSN, they don't have anyone waiting in the wings that feels ready to step right into the big chair.

John Roberts was that person standing behind Rather (and they passed him over).
Russ Mitchell was that person standing behind Pelley.
Norah was that person standing behind Glor.

Who is next up after the current two?

That's likely because the current management doesn't care about what came before. They're not invested in the past.

Didn't he begin co-hosting the Saturday morning show?

I thought Glor was very good as evening news anchor and felt the network made a poor decision when it removed him from that role.

New anchor announced for Evening News:

The move now leaves an opening for CBS Mornings.
I wonder if what happened last year will be noticed. Apparently there's some history that involves Bari Weiss' publication.

How long was this switch in the works. I doubt this happened overnight. I’d bet Dokoupil was given the job a lot earlier than reported.
