I no longer care about the race or the sound of the on-airs anymore (like I used to when I was younger, back when I used to complain about how unurban Phoenix radio was). Maybe the ethnic sound is important in regards to demographics and subconsciously giving certain formats a certain "feel" to certain styles of audiences, but.. it's no longer too much of a big deal to me. Of course, being into radio and knowing all that I know from past experience, I can't help but to naturally edge towards desiring a hispanic/urban sound to rhythmic formats (since this is what I've enjoyed growing up), but in reality I don't care about the ethnic sound too much as long as the person is genuine, interesting, and entertaining.
(By the way, whoever is mixing during the live broadcast on Groove right now shouldn't be playing a record meant to be at 130bpm at 120bpm, all chopped and screwed as if this is Texas in 2003. Other than that, he's sounding good in the mix.)
