Max 106.3 change?

This could be old news, but I wandered to Max 106.3 WHCY's website, and it directed me to Today's Best Hits. Did they drop the local and pick up the satellite service?

Yes. Called to complain and got some song and dance about a sale, by somone who sounded like they didn't care.

Theres not even a way to contact them locally via the website anymore. Indicates that maybe more then a few people complained.

Was a great station too. Now all the DJs sound like they're 235 years old.

This station was the greatest. I used to always listen to it not only because of the awesome music that they played, but also because of how down to earth the disk jockeys were. I really miss this station, it used to be #1 on my preset list. I can't stand it how Clear Channel could do something like this to such a wonderful station. Today's best hits has got to go! Bring back Max 106.3

Look for this sort of thing to continue happening more and more.

Radio stations are losing money hand over fist. They can no longer "afford" to keep creative and talented people on their payroll. This results in a "cluster mentality" which basically creates a "cookie cutter" style of template for all stations managed by the large radio owner/operators.

This is what happens when business gets bad and too many high-priced executives who don't do the daily work of actually keeping the station on the air are taking home all the earnings. As long as you have this kind of thinking in corporate america, then you will see more of the "one size fits all" thing happening. This will be true in all industries, but we tend to notice it more in industries like radio, where creativity and individuality is fast becoming a thing of the past.

It's very sad.
