Max FM 103.1 Drops Morning and Afternoon Personalities

EMF hasn't pulled out of a market, as far as I know, though they did move from 97.5 to 98.3 in the Mobile-Pensacola area as a result of a multi-station deal with Cumulus.

In the case of the Gulf Coast, though, Cumulus wanted the WABD CHR format on the frequency of the late CHR powerhouse WABB-FM. K-Love was already on WPLV 95.7 FM in Pensacola. And 97.5's signal stretches as far as Destin, Florida and as far as Gulfport, Mississippi.
 
After letting the personalities go, and switching from classic hits to classic rock, WBZO Max 103.1 moved up substantially in the recent overall ratings for Nassau-Suffolk. Its rival WBAB 102.3 remains #1 in its market. Apparently Long Island loves its classic rock.
