Or, not...
Danny Bonaduce?
Oh my.
Well, if we see a multi-colored old school bus in front of the Halle building, then we'll know for sure.
It wouldn't be too far-fetched. Remember that WNCX had, pre-Stern, former Humble Pie lead Jerry Shirley as their morning host (he then scooted to overnights prior to his ultimate, and sad, departure).
And don't forget Micheal Stanley, obviously.
If CBS did this (and again, for hopelessly ignorant people like "becker5," I said IF) that would be an interesting means to burn off Danny's contract. Maybe giving Danny a fresh start in Cleveland in the process, and WNCX as well, once the last two months of Maxwell's contract is inevitably bought out ("becker5," that's different from getting "fired").
Danny could fit WNCX's demos better than Maxwell could, plus instead of competing with "Kiley and Booms" for the same target audience, Danny would be complementary with K&B, targeting Rover's older demos and Lanigan's demos at the same time.
(I can't be the only one that finds the possibility of Danny and Chuck Booms working side-by-side in the Halle just oh so intriguing. Lol.)
Do I see it happening? I don't know. Not terribly likely IMO. But CBS will need to do something with Danny. He loses his current radio home in two weeks, as WYSP/Philadelphia goes bye-bye to simulcast WIP-AM on September 6 - a week after our own 92.3 flips to "The Fan."
Supposedly, Danny's contract was all that kept CBS from announcing the WYSP flip much earlier. Couple that with WNCX needing to resolve the Maxwell situation to benefit "K&B," this could be an obvious solution for all parties.
But I wouldn't put money at the betting window just yet.
Going into this with the proverbial grain of salt already taken, let's assume Danny Partridge does come to WNCX.
I think he could do real well here.
Bonaduce knows his audience, and his well documented infamous past could generate a few curious ears that normally wouldn't go to 98.5.
If nothing else, if Rover wanted to start a new war once Maxwell's gone, Ol' Danny boy wouldn't think twice about shooting back.
