MAY 16TH OFFICIALLY "MY THREE SONS" DAY IN LA

In the linked article, Chip mentioned that My Three Sons was on Me-TV
weekday mornings at 8:30. It's actually on at 7:30/6:30.

Stanley stayed at a hotel where I worked. He was doing an "old time" autograph show with other celebrities from past shows. He was a big jerk. Him and Jay North were the two biggest divas I'd ever seen.

He was all like "No one must know I'm here." I was like, "No one knows who you are anyway." Clearly Jay North and Livingston don't understand the concept of "once famous, not anymore."

I may add, his brother Barry was much cooler and in touch with the fans. Of course so were Todd Bridges and Dana Plato which may say something about celebrities and fans eh :)

Speaking of Jay North, I recall seeing him on Oprah's show one day many years ago, when she was doing a show on former child stars. Dana Plato and Paul Petersen were also on the panel. Jay North talked frankly about what a terrible abusive childhood he had endured and how he still had anger issues over it. He even said that he occasionally fantasized about climbing up a tower with a high-powered rifle and shooting people. That was a jaw-dropper. A few years later I saw him signing autographs at a movie/TV memorabilia show outside Washington DC. Believe me, I stayed clear of that table! I read that in the years since he made that Oprah appearance that he has found peace in his life, has been married to the same woman since 1993 and volunteers his time as a counselor and advocate for abused children. At last report he lives in Florida. It's nice his story has a happy ending.

Too bad if it's true that Jay North and Stanley Livingston acted like divas, as a previous poster indicated, but even some quasi-celebrities have an inflated sense of self-importance.

Let's see the current child stars on Nick & Disney Channel in about 15 - 20 years from now and how they will turn out.

It's certainly possible that current child stars whose careers crater will feel bitter in 20 years. But it was a little different in the early 60s - in Jay North's days. Actors did not get residual payments for reruns. IIRC, residuals weren't successfully negotiated by the actor's union, the Screen Actor's Guild, until the mid or late 1960s (not sure what year), so many child actors in early 60s TV sitcoms were left without any income after their original work was completed.

Even adult actors like Dick York (the first Darrin on Bewitched) were left without any income when their health declined. From what I've read, York died of emphysema as a pauper.
