May I recommend

Gee, I don't know. I have a Mac so it plays through my I-tunes, and there are short buffering breaks.

My Shoutcast (Winamp) player says it is 40 kbs. Unfortunately it seems to buffer a lot, making a "hiccup" every few seconds. I'm quite sure the problem is not with my computer. I routinely listen to 64 kbs and higher streams with no interruption.

They may be a good station, but nobody will stay tuned in for any amount of time if that keeps happening. There are just too many other choices out there.

I've never had a problem with their stream. Never rebuffs, no hiccups etc. Sure it isn't your computer guys?

Checkout This New Streaming Oldies Station. www.realoldies1600.com
No thanks, Clear Channel pulled the plug on Real Oldies 1690 (Chicago) in August but then put the stream up online. Don't want them, don't need them. I have a Mac and listen to 1160 online with no interruptions, don't know what the problem could be for others.

This isn't the 1690 stream out of Chicago. This is 1600 out of Albuquerque. Don't know the calls, as they aren't listed on the website. Also not sure who owns them. But back to 1160, I'm using a pc with Winamp and I don't have a problem with the station. You might try adding and enabling the Thompson mp3PRO plug-in. This seems to have helped others even though the stream doesn't appear to be mp3PRO.

I love 1160 WDJO. Gives me a great third option along with my XM and Sirius radios. Really enjoy the local Cincinnati flavor. The station encompasses much of what was good about the old 1530 WSAI a couple years ago.

Hey, just listening to Reall Oldies 1600 as I write this. Sounds like the calls are KRKE Alburquerque, and they're owned by Vanquard Communications, which is apparently a New Mexico Company. So the poster who feard that this was a CC opperation need not worry.
