May Ratings - Former Movin 93.9 Gets No Rating

KIIS up. So much for KLSX topping them. KIIS still beats them by over 1,000,000 in cume and has reversed their slide, stays #1 and distanced themselves more so in May from their new competitor.

KFI. Some of their best numbers ever. Not unexpected due to the statewide props in May. More proof the audience that Bill Handel and John & Ken attracts an audience that does drive the election results in Southern California.

98.7 and KROQ just .1 apart and 98.7 cuming more than KROQ.

Nice move up for Hot 92.3. More evidence to bury those bogus KFI-FM rumors.

KXOS, former Movin 93.9, is a no show. Will give David crowing rights to that prediction.

So much for all the digital billboards for The Sound. Cume up, ratings down. Dump the format and put on the Bonneville 80's Rewind format...

KDAY and KJLH going nowhere. Same goes for Latino 96.3 and Super Estrella. One of each needs to go.

WOW! Exitos is disappointing! I would have thought it would make a little impact but no! It's only been a few months but you never know.
Good news for AMP and KIIS! And even better for KROQ and KYSR. It seems their audience that left to listen to AMP is coming back

KXOS
seriously? Zilch?

David please weigh in here. Did somebody forget to file the paperwork?

Arbitron gets call letters from one of the FCC data providers. At the last date of the survey, 5/27, the station was still KMVN and is listed as KMVN. As such, it tied in 12+ with AM nostalgia / ranchera station KHJ with a 1.1

This has got to be the worst launch of a larger market station in a decade or more; it's even worse than the KMVN predecessor format. And they spent, as they have told advertisers, over a million dollars in outside promotion.

Amp keeps going up, and yes KIIS went up also but didn't take listeners away from Amp as their cume went up. CBS Radio must be glad they flipped to CHR and dropped that talk format.

Whoever wrote this wrap-up of Los Angeles May PPM ratings on Inside Radio is an idiot. They list talk as the third highest share of formats in Los Angeles at 4.9. They left out KGIL, KTLK, KRLA and KABC and only used KFI's numbers. That brings it to an 8.5, or tie for 2nd with Regional Mexican. If you add in public radio, talk is actually the top format in Los Angeles http://www.insideradio.com/Article.asp?id=1374863&spid=32061

And if you add in two AM stations to the Regional Mexican format, that's actually the tops CHR in the L.A. PPM ratings.

The only LA AM regional Mexican is KHJ. KUTY is the only other possibility, but it has no ratings and is oldies.

FM we have KDLD, KLAX, KSCA, KBUE, KLYY.
