Leykis...if ever there was a guy that I wouldn't want living within a 25 mile radius of me, he is it. Bitter, angry man, clear hatred of women (how many wives Tom? I lost count after 4), pandering to the LCD, and screaming nonsense on the radio.

Plus, a 60 year old man doing a show for horny 20 year old men, that is just wrong, and pervy as hell.

Glad he is off the air.

On the off chance that someone mentions that Tom and I were born the same year, I'd just like it on the record that Tom is 53.

But the Nurse and I kinda miss Flash Friday  ....miss it like we'll be missing Wonderful Christmastime on 12/26!

So I turn on the radio (but I'm not ridin' in your car ;)) to KOOL 94.5 at 10 AM--
knowing already it's another KOOL Kristmas Weekend--and what song do I hear?

Hint: it wasn't Brown Eyed Girl, but the holiday equivalent. ::)

BTW Doc, ya think they'll go back to normal format on the 26th? I'd guess
not until Monday morning the 28th, and I'm still thinking we're now into 24/7
Kristmas music through all the the coming week too.

...uh, maybe Steve Goddard can tell us why the last song he played on his 70's Kristmas Special was that one!

The mood is right, the spirit's up, we're here tonight and that's enough. We're simply having a wonderful ...brown eyed girl?

If Nurse Jeff and I had to put carbon credits on it, we'd wager Kristmas music wraps up by 6pm Friday and KOOL gives us one of those rare radio treats: An All Seventies Weekend ::)

Wow! Now that is something to really look forward to!

The only theme that could top a That '70s Weekend is...(now don't
get ahead of me here)...a Block Party Weekend! Either way, it'll be
a rare treat! ;D

My mom was locked on KOOL FM until the Christmas music kicked in, and now she's back to flipping back & forth to 99.9 KEZ. I guess KEZ has it made when it comes to being known for Holiday Hits.

Maybe, in 2010... It would be surprising, but not too shocking if someone just happened to flip formats! New years is on a Friday I believe, a great weekend to suddenly go stunting until Monday.

I know this weekend will most likely be boring across most of the dial since Christmas falls on a Friday, meaning it's most likely that there will be no live, fun, entertaining shows, and no one will be mixing it up, but I'm sure next weekend I'll be served with some.... well, red hot mixes! ;D I'll probably be up ALL NIGHT listening! ;D ;D

I don't know why I feel like there will be some changes, somewhere along the rhythmic side of things, whether it be rhythmic top 40, latin rhythm, rhythmic ac...etc. However, I also see 2010 also being an EXTREMELY friendly rhythmic and top 40 year, due to all the pop, electro, and dance hits that are to come..

Anyway, 2010 looks like it will be an interesting year, ESPECIALLY for me and people who share my taste in music and formats... It is actually just pretty interesting period because we're entering a new decade, so we all know somewhere along the lines, music formats and themes will be tweaked to changed with the times, and a whole new generation of sound will be taking over within the next few years or so. This is all in addition to the new technologies and ways to broadcast that are coming. It will be interesting to see how it all unfolds over the next ten years.

Well... can't wait to see what all happens.
M A Y B E , I N 2 0 1 0 . . .

What will happen?
Keep in mind that whatever it is, it may be national, not just local....

Maybe, a string of error free days on KKNT.

In the last week, I got to hear the header (Your TRN Network program will begin in 60 seconds........30 seconds....etc), had several days in a row where two commercials were played at once for 3+ minutes at a time, and other minor screw ups.

I like some of the content, but damn...quality control, please.....

I am definitely loving the new sound of The New Movin 97.5, but

MAYBE, in 2010....

The New Movin 97.5 will stop giving mix 96.9 so much free advertisement by always talking about which songs they don't play before playing those songs! I must admit I think about Mix 96.9 a lot more these days while listening to Movin than I would think about it on my own. I know Movin is basically supposed to be the opposite of what Mix is format-wise, but I don't think they really need to focus much effort on making it very clear to their listeners which songs 96.9 [might] not be playing. And lastly, why are they "fighting with" 96.9 when KZZP is more on their side of their format theme?

Anyway, other than that, Movin is serving me really nicely right now, and hopefully, maybe in 2010, they'll liven up just a little bit. I still have Sat. nights on lock down, and I've noticed how catchy their Sat. night block party mixes are, through other peoples' reaction and movements toward it. Before I got my mom locked on KOOL FM, I had her asking me to "put it back on that station" (Movin), and it ALL started because a few months back we were cleaning up her place for some guests and I had the Sat. night block party was on. I'll just say it was the first time I saw her get down like that, for that long, in a while. Movin has really gotten better since then, and maybe in 2010, things will continue to hopefully look brighter across the dial, even though I may not be here to experience it live.

I'll probably listen  a bit from London..

Maybe in 2010 Emmis buy radio stations and compete with Bonneville. Maybe they could flip 98.3 and call it FM Newstalk 98.3, KKFR. Maybe they could do all news and make Cheap Channel and Bonneville jealous. Maybe there could be a war between the stations and they would have a fight like in the Ron Burgundy movie. Maybe Emmis could flip 103.9 and call it "103.9 The Valley." Maybe they can have a spokesperson be Mr. Valleyman. Maybe they could play whatever they wanted. Maybe. Just maybe. ;D

I would probably see Movin 97.5 turn into a CHR station... like what happened to Movin 99.7 in SF.

But.... why would they do this, especially with KZZP already being very well established, KZON performing exceptionally well and sounding great, and all that we have going on here already? I guess they could stick their foot in too, with hopes they win and beat out the competition, but.... another CHR? ..Or could they be the type of CHR that leans more alternative than the traditional chr?? I don't know, but they seem to be holding on strong to their back in the day hits, all while adding in the best of the new material. If they do decide to go more chr, then, they'll probably need to liven up their sound a bit more. Right now they have the proper sound for a more adult themed rhythmic or chr sound. Well, whatever happens, all I have to say is that as of right now, I'm loving Movin. Remember back when I said "They have potential"????

KKFR sounds like they may be interesting in 2010 as well. Not only because they sometimes steal me away from KMVA on Sat. nights, but... certain things they do tell me that things will get and sound more interesting in time, if things don't change too drastically between now and next summer....

Movin does not make any sense. They'll play Daughtry, Miley Cyrus, Kings of Leon or Owl City, and then follow it up with Boyz 2 Men, Young Mc, or Tag Team. I thought they were a Rhythmic that leaned gold / recurrent. Yet currently, they bite the "Kiss playlist" regardless if the selections have a rock feel or not. I can't see how that gets anybody "Movin"

We are so close to the year of finding out what all might happen!

As of right now, I'm about to be in Mix Heaven! Almost everyone that touches on top 40 or rhythmic music in any way will be live in the mix tonight! I must admit I'm excited! I wait all year for this! This may be my last year experiencing it in Az. for a while...

A lot of exciting things I can feel coming in 2010, but who knows what it will all be? What's exciting to me is not necessarily exciting to everyone else, but I'm sure 2010 will bring something for everybody. What will it be? Well who knows?

M A Y B E I N 2 0 1 0 . . .

There will be something exciting, and lovely for YOU!

That Eighties Weekend on KOOL 94~Five? Pullleze, KLL, clue the clueless in on your big scoop!
