Mayhem In The AM Best Sports-Talk Show

790 The Zone GM Andrew Saltzman sent out the following email to clients yesterday:

"What do you get when you put three bald, dysfunctional men together in a room for five hours every weekday with microphones? This is an easy one...the Best Sport-Talk Radio Show in Atlanta! That's right! The discerning readers of The Sunday Paper voted Mayhem in the AM as A-town's #1 in The Sunday Paper Reader's Choice Awards 2009."

RTibbs will have something to say about this.

How did you guess that Roddy. I already had my comment picked out when I saw the topic. I heard Steakie's dismissive interview with the Sunday Paper Editor.

I do like Mayhem, after TRG my second fave morning show. I just prefer it with two bald-headed dysfuntional people on the show and the third big-headed bald-headed dysfuntional person on vacation.

Of course being nominated Best Sports Talk Radio show in Atlanta by the Sunday Paper is kind of like being named the Coolest Guy at the Star Trek Convention by the Live Long and Prosper club.

This reminds me of when Steak won the AIR award for best radio personality. I figured the vote was based on the percentage of your listeners who chose you. For example, Clark Howard received 12,205 votes, representing 6.8% of his listenership. Steak received 118 votes, representing 86% of his listenership (137 house-bound agoraphobes with sports obsessions).

Question for today:
How do you know if Steak Shapiro is at your party?

Answer? He'll tell you.

no more calls please, we have a winner!
best post in a long time.

I blame this squarely on Lorentino. His is unlistenable and drives people to their only other option.

How do we know Steakie didn't cast 100 votes for himself?

Mayhem is better than 680's morning show, but that's not saying a whole lot. I'd actually vote for Chuck and Chernoff if I had to pick the best sports talk show in town. They're easily the most entertaining of the local sports talk shows, IMHO.

It is all for show as they need all of the attention they can get. Last weeks stunt- they were offering to donate $50,000 they don't have for an interview with Michael Vick.

They still can't bill, their act is old and it's the same old boring radio show it's been for the past few years. They let more people go behind the scenes this week as the money drain continues.

Won't be suprised if Score Atlanta, or the Atlanta Business Chronicle follow suit with praise. In breaking news Jezebel says it likes 680 the Fan over the Zone.

I must admit it is so uncomfortable to hear Leo with Rude and Perry in the mornings. The Braves should ask Leo to come back. Would make them and 680 better.
