Mc12 Downtown Live: Name that plaza!

200 EVB Plaza doesn't roll off the tongue, and it isn't very memorable. Given that the new studio is along Van Buren Street, I was thinking something more along the lines of "200 Prostitute Plaza."

With windows overlooking Van Buren Street, the ground-level studio resembles the "Today" show set in which passers-by and onlookers become part of the newscast.

Just wait until the loons from the Westboro Baptist Church get into town and decide they want to become part of Mc12's newscast. Salvador Reza and a host of other community activists are probably chomping at the bit as well, waiting for the perfect opportunity to also become part of Mc12's newscast.

Great move, Mc12! The valley's leader in ground-level studios!! :D

....Now where did I put my protest sign. ;)

Of course, they can do what the "Today" show does when it encounters something dangerous or objectionable outside -- pull down the shutters.

The new 12 News intro "Live from 200 EVB" is dramatic and something new in Phoenix news!

Yes, I think we all know how a dramatic news opening vastly improves the overall product. It's almost as effective as applying too much make-up to a well-known Phoenix realtor news anchor. :D

OTOH, graphics definitely enhance a newscast...what we do without the "over the top" graphics from Fox10??? Maybe we could actually HEAR the newscast and maybe the anchors would stop talking over the graphics... :D

Oh, and I wonder if the new 12 News set will still turn red during breaking news...that's the only way that I know that it's breaking news!!! ;D

When did Wonderful Russ become a TV news anchor? Did he promise to take your station
to #1 in only 53 days? Short-sell the headlines when needed? If you're not happy with
the anchors' chemistry, fiiirrre him?

You must be referring to another incumbent local anchor then. Who? Is it the station with
the huge Doppler? (syrupy...) Thank you. ;D

That is one of the reasons I quit watching Fox.
