McCloud & Shannon

Coyote is a great guy. Even gave me some good advice a couple of times. I'm fortunate to have known him.

Scott's resume;

Be critical when your's comes close to his.

Scott Shannon has stumbled into an amazing career. As a broadcaster, programmer and host of the True Oldies Channel, his is truly an amazing success story.

He's been everywhere, man... working in markets like Mobile, Memphis, Nashville, Atlanta, D.C., Tampa Bay, Los Angeles and New York City. Honored in Billboard Magazine numerous times, Scott has been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, The Broadcast Hall of Fame in Washington, D.C., and the Radio Hall of Fame in Chicago, IL

This is only part of it. I copied this off the website "True Oldies Channel."

we won't hold KQLZ (Pirate Radio) LA against him...
but his intros on the Sean Hannity SHow drive me crazy.

maybe Shannon will go hot AC off the bird in NYC.
oh, that's right...he's on FM.

i didn't know scott, but did work with coyote at power country(now buzz)..and i was surprised to find him down to earth and ego free..to tell the truth, i didn't know what to expect..guess i was prepared for a super ego type personality..just the opposite. i will admit and coyote will too he is probably the most technically inept jock i've ever met from the standpoint of equipment..not a slam now,,but all the jocks i had worked with did know a little about the plugs and wires..my first experience with him was a few years before i worked with him,,he was doing a birthday party for a girl in gallatin..naturally bill buntin "VOLENTEERED MY SOUND EQUIPMENT FOR THE EVENT"..i went out set it up and when coyote arrived briefly showed him what was where..i begin to see his eyes glaze over a little..lol..i finally got it set up with two pots..one for mike, one for tt. and left..when i got back to the music store i managed i had a frantic call to return..seems i had neglected to show him the on/off switch on the mike..lol...but tech stuff aside..he is genually one of the nicest and non ego driven people in the business i've ever run across..and one of the most talented. i wish i knew one tenth of the rock history he does and had met the people he has..and he's managed to outlive a lot of them. how he's kept his head together with all the personal tragedy in his family..i'll never understand..to talk to him..you'd never know..

Everybody here has thier own opinions, and that is what's so great about being here. If we all agreed, life would be boring!

Buddy likes Scott's and his "True Oldies Channel", and that's cool.

I'd rather listen to Scott play "Today's Best Hits" on 95.5 WPLJ-FM in NYC. I listen to Scott some in the morning, due to WPLJ streams on the net.

There is an age difference between us two. It's amazing that Scott is able to relate to two different demos!

I was good friends with Coyote's son, Scott, back in the 80's. We pulled off some good pranks (off air).

what happened to:

Let me say that I have nothing “personally” against former air personalities/pros in the Nashville market, but please, can’t you guys please stop talking about Coyote McCloud, Scott Shannon.

you start a thread ranting about a topic that bothered you...but no one was talking
about until you brought it back up! :-\

and now you reply with a positive post in the thread you wanted no one to talk about! ???

head-on. apply directly to my forehead...

Me thinks it is another attempt at a shameless self promotion for a little am station in Gallatin.

Nock

Chris:
You just don't get it, my friend!? I said positive things because there is nothing bad about the two gentlemen or those 3 stations. that is discussed day in and day out.
It's just simply we discuss the same subjects all the time on this board and there is more to this market than Coyote, Shannon (which is not in this market), WRQQ, WVNS, & WSM-AM. It's like eating the same ole thing for lunch everyday.
My suggestion is that we find some other topic to discuss besides these people or stations. 8) Move along folks, summer is upon us!

correct: you start a post criticizing all of us for talking about Coyote and Shannon...when no one was.
I don't understand the need to start a thread that dredges up what you're complaining about.
you've created a ton more Shannon/Coyote posts...when they would have just gone away.

BTW...Shannon called Buddy today here at CC

We don't wanna talk about Shannon and CC in the same sentence, either, ROMER. Who cares.

Or for that matter who cares about anything else on this board unless it's got an in- frequency of over 1510 on the AM dial and call letters found in aRbOR Mist or tOMORROW.
