McComb radio

I was surprised when I was there over the weekend to notice that 980 was off the air. When did they go silent? And what is in the old WAPF-WCCA studios now?

No one has any info? I know they lost their tower a while back. (Just can't imagine how you could misplace a tower. They should look harder for it...)

WAPF and WAKK were simolcasting a few months ago. An urban gospel format. 980 was on low power. Barely reaching Deleware ave. I dont think its actually silent. Just off the air. Dont think Dowdy really cares. Now WHNY and WAPF are gone...............Actually so is WAKK..No one listens.

According to the FCC 980 is now WAKK and 1140 is now WAPF??? WTH?? Both liscened. 980 was just granted renewal.

Thanks- perhaps they were having troubles with 980, although 1140 sounded weak even in downtown McComb.

I wonder why they flipped the call letters?

I'm trying to imagine Phillip Brady reacting to a black gospel station on "his" signal.
