McConnell's Returning

I'm neutral on McConnell, but if Tracy's leaving that's a bonus.

Take the info on that blog site with a grain of salt. When Robert Feder comes out with that info then I'll believe it.

True. Besides, why does McConnell need Fingers? That is THE LAST thing i'd do. It would be like teaming Wildman Walker with
Cris Collinsworth...

Agreed. Teaming Fingers up with McConnell is not necessary, even if they do have a history together before they worked for the same company. We'll see how this plays out.

I think McConnell is the logical replacement for Cunningham. If the tv show is successful, Willie is bound to get worn out doing both jobs. I worked at 5 when Springer was anchoring local news and doing his show in Chicago. He could only do it for so long.

Have to agree with what's already been said. I can't see teaming up McConnell with anyone, especially somebody like Eddie Fingers. McConnell is good enough to stand entirely on his own. Ditch the Fingers/Jones junior high boys hour, save a salary, and put on a real radio personality.

It would be like owning a car dealership and putting a Yugo next to a Jag.... Save the $$$ and ditch Fingers.

Keep Fingers. Ditch the sophomoric weight/race/sex talk of Jones. In other words, ditch Jones. I'd rather hear old tapes of Ed Bousman, Lynchburg, Ohio. Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition. Have McConnell sub for Cunningham, otherwise, let it be Eddie and Friends. The station sounds better when Lisa, Gary Jeff, etc. join in.

This is great news. Enjoyed his show for years on WLW. I can listen again while I am out driving around in my car now that I am within earshot of WLW again.

Jones really turns me off at some point during a 10-15 minute listen, nearly every time I give it a chance. Yesterday they were talking about the Reds and he asked some guy how much he made (guy sheepishly said about 28-29K) and Tracy told him he should not be going to Reds games because he can't afford it so his opinion did not matter. This after the guy had already said he watched nearly every game at home and Tracy said you need to be at the ballpark, which is just bologna. I don't listen to the radio to be made uncomfortable so I hope he is splitsville. Entertain, inform, challenge, debate but don't make fun of someone over their lot in life.

Latest comment McConnell had on Facebook is that he has not yet officially parted ways with WGN and everything is in limbo

Yup because WGN is looking for an FM in Chicago.... All the edgy guys will be there. Heck, maybe they'll make a play for Mancow.

Still not sure McConnell is part of that picture or he'd be on the same podcast platform as Brandmeier. No tech difficulties with Brandmeier's podcast. Still thinking whether he's headed back to Cincy or not, Mike is done there.
