Agreed, but CC has never given that signal a chance or put any money into promoting except when it first launched. If I remember correctly, when they launched back in late 2008 with Radio 106.7 they had billboards and maybe even a TV spot.
Billboards, multiple web domains, and TV spots. It was also a new frequency in the market at the time. Had 997 The Rock not happened, they may have stayed put. It's sister Radio 104.5 in Philly is still doing fairly well and they're still a bit lighter sounding with the playlist. Granted, they don't have a 102.5 in their market.

Plantz is right on the money! WNCI does play 1/3 of X's currents and it sounds more stale than ever. If 'NCI wasn't afraid to jump on those rhythmic tracks, I'd listen more often.
To be clear, I don't find NCI stale, personally. I honestly just enjoy the business hypotheticals. I am glad alternative is crossing over though. It's nice to hear more emotional music instead of another love song or party song. You will notice though that most of the alternative crossovers have "four on the floor" drumbeats (Kick drum on all four beats) so as to blend nicely with the dance product. I laughed when I heard Lifehouse's latest release having four on the floor. Apparently, that's what bands need to do to stay relevant.
I'm probably not much of a rhythmic guy unless DeadMau5, Porter Robinson, and the dubstep / electro DJs classify as rhythmic. I still think some of the dubstep / electro stuff would do well on 'X'. It's no different than when Fatboy, Crystal Method, and Moby were big on alternative in the late 90s.
