McGrory and McFee on WTKK Sat 9-12

any thoughts on "FM TALK'S newest duo"? I've never heard them.

see http://www.969fmtalk.com/Home/tabid/36/Default.aspx

McGrory & McPhee Saturday Edition 9A-12N, Feb 24th, 2007
Brian McGrory and Michele McPhee - FM TALK'S newest duo discuss the hottest issues, while you enjoy your first day of weekend.

On from 9-12, they replace the following on WTKK:
Jimmy Severino Rewind: 7-10
Michael Graham Cracker Rewind: 10-12

and go head to head with WRKO's:
Moe Lauzier Live: 6-10
Ellen O'Brien Live: 10-1

You may mean McPhee (proper spelling), Herald crime reporter. They've done fill ins before.

Brian McGrory writes for the Globe. I think he's the brother of the late Mary McGrory. When JFK was killed,
she asked Pat Moynihan, "Oh, Pat, will we ever laugh again?" Moynihan replied, "Oh, we'll laugh, Mary.
But we'll never be young again."

Brian McGrory is Mary's cousin. He's also a novelist. I think he and Michele have been on since before Christmas, but definitely since Eagan and Braude moved to three hours.

I hate Brian McGrory. All he does is complain about Hingham. Look, our families live down the street from one another. All my high school english teacher, Mr. Ghiorse, used to say was "brian was best writer" and then he'd cut out columns, bring them to class, and ask us "why can't you all read Brian, and then write more like him?" Brian, brian, brian.

Jealousy aside, he's proven himself as a columnist. In my eyes, he's a gen-x version of Mike Barnicle, progressive, but slower to judge and more explorative of the emotional aspects affecting everyone. I hope this radio show is springboard for the Weymouth experience contributing to more than just the local Boston social commentary.

Great, a spoiled brat hack who complains about HINGHAM? Send him to the slums of Calcutta for a week. See how he does there.

Another Globie-WTKK connection...GM being just down the street from El Globo. (Barnicle, ex-Globe;
Shaughnessy as part of that show...maybe there are Globe sportswriters on Sports Huddle.)

Agree about Brian complaining about Hingham;but I live in Hull so I think he's funny!
Last time I listened to Michelle is when she ranted against the 2 guys for the Cartoon publicity stunt. It is her opinion that Boston didn't overreact.I disagree. Anyway, with Michelle's "I was talking to some guys" chatter and trying too hard to be the 'spokeswoman from the street' (my opinion), I'm done listening. If she spent more time investigating police coverup (why wasn't the cop who hit the woman on the xway given a breathalizer?) or union mismanagement,I'd try to be more open-minded. Some would accuse me of being like her.
