McGuirk "No Longer With" The FAN

The other proverbial shoe has dropped, according to Newsday:
Imus sidekick booted, too

Imus was fired on Friday. McGuirk had been suspended from the station but now officially has been removed altogether...

The station did not use the term "fired," instead saying McGuirk "no longer is with the radio station.

Whatever...

Perhaps the "No longer with" means he's gotten a better gig? Maybe Stern? Maybe in preparation for the Imus return?

Is McCord next?

Considering Charles has BEEN ON THE AIR for the past week, I doubt it.

Bartlett was on O&A this morning, pretty good interview. They invited him to be a part of the Virus tour

Stern absolutely hates Bernard, based on the comments Stern has made recently on his Sirius show. He won't turn up on Howard 100-101.

...in fact, Stern has specifically said that if McGuirk is hired by Sirius, Stern will quit on the spot...

Yeah right, Stern is going to walk away from a $100 million dollar a year paycheck just because he doesn't like McGuirk. Highly unlikely.
As for Charles McCord, he was not fired from FAN. He's been featured on Mike and the Mad Dog Show. There was no reason for CBS to fire McCord because, unlike Imus and McGuirk, he didn't say anything when those other two were making their stupid remarks about the Rutgers Girl's Basketball team.

It's the Rutgers WOMEN's basketball team. They're not girls. I am deeply offended and believe you should be fired for such a demeaning comment.

Isn't that the state of the world today? We overreact to nonsense and cause more harm than the comment itself did?
