McIntyre at KFI would be a great move

Don Barrett had a teaster about a listener wishing for Doug McIntyre to move to KFI. I too would love that.

I think it is high time for KFI to end that miserable Bryan Suits show and instead put on Doug McIntyre in that time slot. That would be a killer move and I certainly would stay tuned after J&K for that show.

Doug's a good broadcaster and a good guy. But he's a little too old and not really hip or slick enough for the KFI audience. He would be a better fit on KRLA or KABC where he came from.
Okay, they decided he wasn't cutting it in Morning Drive, but Red-Eye Radio was a proven winner.

Whoa! No way.
I'm a fan of McIntyre and wish he was on the radio again. I'd like to have him on RedEye but wouldn't wish those hours on anybody. KRLA would be a perfect fit. I'd be overjoyed to see him replace Medved or even Gallagher. In fact, opposite FHF would be a fantastic slot for him.
As for Suits, he is improving every week and I think is doing fine. I listen to him and think he covers a lot of bases other conservatives don't--in other words, he's got an original take on a lot of things. His law enforcement and military insights are found nowhere else. I'd miss him and think whoever might take his place would be a lesser talent. Aron Bender is a great asset to Suit's show.

Doug might be a good weekend show, but too much of a contrast from J&K. Ziegler was the best in the 7 to 10 slot because he was hyper and a little crazy. Actually I liked Phil Hendrie because he was a logical transition from J&K and just as real. I loved his phony phone callers but John and Ken are just as fake except that they try to appear sincere and concerned. As for Suits I think he is off base a lot and not ready for the big city. When he does make a valid case he just doesn't give the impression that he really knows what he is talking about.

I don't know where they would fit McIntyre on KRLA as they are committed to the shows they do which are part of Salem Syndication. Kevin James is their only weak link and more of a doofus than Suits. If ole Saul hadn't pulled the plug on News/Talk maybe McIntyre could have been a local morning show on KGIL. The main thing about him was his devotion to local issues and nobody does than now. Of course with his knowledge of music he could work on the Retro1260 format and if they flip back to talk he would be in place to do their first show to build on.

Are you guys actually fans of McIntyre? Don't get me wrong, I think he's competent but there are countless of hosts out there that can do what McIntyre does. There's nothing special about him.

Sure Doug seems universally regarded as a smart guy, somewhat conservative in a liberal town.

Then riddle me this. If Doug is so bright, come he fell hook, line, and sinker into the Barrack Obama message of "Hope and Change" and actually voted for him? Exactly how is that working out for you Doug, conservatives in particular, and the country in general?

Sorry, but for my "smart" host, I want someone better equipped to see the forest for the trees. Plenty of hosts were on to Barry, and Doug wasn't one of them.
