Whats the deal with so many jocks in the Atlanta area with Mc names? Bob McKee - Gary McKee - Jeff
McCartney - Steve McCoy - Mark McCain - Dallas McCade - Kate McCarthy - Kelly McCoy - Kim McCarthy -
Rhubarb McJones (sorry) and a s**tload of others that don't come to mind immediately. Years ago I was told by one of these people that they wanted a Mc name hoping that some of Gary McKee's success might
rub off on them. What's your take?
 
Gary who??? I think you're putting way too much thought into this one. May be too much time on your hands dude.
 
Yeah 97.1 The River's Kate McCarthy I can't figure out. Rumor is she is very envious of B98.5 midday personality Jordan Graye. Since Kate's really made a name for herself maybe they should pair Jordan and Kate together as "Jordan & Kate: The New River Wakeup Crew"! Kate can play the "straight man", but watch out because Jordan can be all wacky and off the wall! Bonus as per Cox's methodology five years from now they can still be new.

Now, that's funny! At one point back in the 80's, Gary McKee, Mark McCain, and Steve McCoy were the three leading morning guys in town (94Q, 96 Rock, Z93, respectively). It was the invasion of the Irish morning hosts!

Seriously, all were/are great guys and it was fun working with and/or up against them back in the day. I've previously posted about me filling in for McKee while on he was on his Johnny Carson imitating vacation schedule on 94Q, and then meeting Mark McCain and his partner Steve Mitchell (also one of the best, both professionally and personally) at an, um, adult location....for lunch....that, er, um....well, we're basically older and wiser now, but back then we weren't. Fun, fun days. I miss the people the most. Even as competitors, we were friends, and had an incredible time, every day.

And let's not forget Kelly McCoy, who I STILL work with. Now, there's a total gentleman/class act, too.
