McPhee goes after Howie's listeners...

When Howie's show ends at 7 I often tune to WTKK to hear Michele McPhee. Yeah, not too crazy about her voice but sometimes good subjects. Lately it seems like she's going after Howie's listeners. HC's former producer Happy is on board, as are several of the same sound effects Howie used, and tonight she did a
"tasering hour" in which people nominated celebs, etc. , who ought to be tasered, and Happy played the
"Don't tase me bro!" sound effect.

And then when a computer wouldn't co-operate, THIS inside joke from Michele:

"Oh well...Greater Media happens!"
(Howie throws more hints out that he'd like to jump; he's hoping Entercom goes Chapter 11 this upcoming year so he can get his release. "(Chapter) Eleven in '10, that's my motto."

Maybe she's going after Howie's listeners because she realized that both of her listeners are on vacation this week?

dang, is she annoying. I don't listen to her radio show but Emily Rooney often subjects here 12 viewers (myself included) to her grating personality.

Happy goes a little heavy on the sound effects for me....it was annoying on Howie, and it's annoying on Michele. Enough of the pouring bottle already!

Hey, BTW, is anyone else missing Curtis Sliwa? I liked Bachelor when he was with Alexander, but on his current show, he's too intellectual and fey for me....quite a switch from the feel of Curtis' show.

Didn't we just go through this? I guess you must have been fibbing about understanding how these things work,

Let's see if we have this scenario straight. Entercom, for some reason, goes chapter 11. Howie therefore tries to get out of his deal with Entercom so he can work for Greater Media, now the only talk game in town, for about 1/10th the money he's making now. Do you ever reason this stuff through, or does EDS mean never having to think?

The more likely scenario is that if Entercom busted out, Carr would go to court to keep his contract in effect, probably using a different lawyer than the last time around, if you know what I mean.

Now, it's your turn to come back and mention how you realized this all along, but that you are contractually obligated to Maloney to post this drivel in order to maintain your premium membership in SaveRKO.

Regards.
TSB

It's not EDS, it's just Howie having a little fun with his situation (and us too). Would he get as much? Who knows. I don't think it would be for 1/10th the money though.

It's not premium membership in drivel. Now open the present I sent you--Sensodyne. It'll give you a good buzz, just ask Sen. Gallucio. (Or "Harvey's Bristol Gleem".)

McPhee won't be doing much Voice Over work

Michele needs a voice and articulation coach. Her accent and voice are a tune-out but her content is pretty good. Howie is easier on the ears but the content.... ???

I guess you also forgot that GM's GM has publicly stated he's no longer interesting in hiring Howie. Further, the chance of Entercom going Chapter 11 is probably not very much, seeing as how their stock price has more than rebounded from the time last year when it was down in Citadel territory.

Well Howie was at least making sport of it; it really is an inside joke, which is how I regard it. I was just saying he was joking about Entercom doing "(Ch) 11 in '10", not taking it all that seriously, and McPhee
was doing "Greater Media happens" as a bit of an in joke to the Howie listeners.

Who knows, he may or may not wind up there despite the denial of interest. But where else would he go,
CBS? No room for him at 'BZ and maybe not the class of announcer they'd want (though he has got
half decent ratings)

We are in agreement on her voice and accent, albeit neither one of which is her fault. However, when it comes to content I can't see how calling everyone she hates (a fairly long list) a "hemmorrhoid" pretty good content. Maybe she is trying to capture the enormous audience of adolescents who listen to her show while doing their homework?

I agree with her positions on almost everything, but I can't tske the Boston accent. The voice is bad, but the accent is worse. The classic Boston accent is a string of mispronuciations riddled with bad grammar. It reminds me of Larry Johnson.

Remember, she used to be a reporter for tabloids...so a big part of her style is colorful. I don't know about a "long list"....the few people she has gone after on the air when I have been listening have deserved it! ;-)
