What's interesting is when she's on Ch 5 she isn't so bad. Her voice is calm and measured, not screechy. Somehow being on radio with headphones led her to speak a bit louder and her slightly raspy voice could be screechy--she has admitted to being deaf in one ear, so maybe that's the explanation. She just didn't realize and maybe didn't notice the VU
meters going into convulsions.
She left WTKK to go to RKO (replacing Charley Manning) and when she went to CH 5 was
replaced in turn by Jen Brien. I don't know if she's going to RKO or Talk 1200--she had promised a "big announcement" this past week--but my memory of her goes back to Jan. of 2010 on WTKK (right around the same time, word came that CC would flip 1200 to talk,
which debuted in March). She was doing coverage of the Brown-Coakley special election
on talk 96.9 and when a colleague walked into their broadcast remote at F1 in Brockton,
she screeched "MICHAEL GRAHAM IS IN THE HOUSE!!!!! in a raspy, party-hearty, rowdy and LOUD voice.
My ears are still trying to recover. Avi Nelson, over on WRKO, was a bit more delicate to
the eardrums.
