So who's been doing the morning show? Has it just been Stacey and the other guy? My schedule these days means I don't get in the car until well after the show's over.

Is that country I smell ready to make a return to the Citadel cluster? Trapper, you may know better than any of us if you still talk to anyone there.
 
Country that reaches New Orleans and Baton Rouge! ?! Citadel has no country in BR.
 
I just can't see Citadel trying country again, even if it was on a different frequency. BR has three country stations already (100.7, 101.5, and 107.3). Why would they do that...?

I don't know if there are format flip plans afoot for WDVW. I do know that I have mad respect for John McQueen's abilities and I'm proud to call him a friend. I hope he finds something that keeps him in New Orleans.
 
this one is for radeoengineer who cleverly came up with this format for 102.9
This time it'll be KMNT "Mint Julip" and it will be all the great songs of the south from the late 1800's. Hasn't ever been done before and it's yet another Citadel format of brilliant creativity and commitment to the community.

so it didnt pan out for that frequency............well they have another chance and this time on 92.3! this is a perfect opportunity to try his mint julip or my mojito 92 dot 3. this is a perfect opportunity!

I think 106.7 was killed when they realized they had better move their cash cow to a station that they knew would be on the air after September 1st, meaning a format that basically had no chance more on the mistakes of the management with the fact that country is a hard sell in this city is why you got what you did.

With Mcqueen out, I think there will be on more focus on making 92.3 into a real Hot a/c station to try and steal thunder from B97. I mean put a real good and loveable guy or group on in afternoons opposite the "afternoon swirl" of T-Pot and Stevie G as I find they try to bring the family stories ala Kidd Kraddick, but go overboard and sound more like what young parents would talk over milk and cookies at daycare sometimes.

Country could be done but 92.3 isn't the station for it.... Hot a/c or Rock would be the only choices I'd say here.. Since tower-mate 104.1 is rock, i'd say forget that happening until 104.1 is cut loose by Clear Channel or changes formats for the 7th time in 10 years .

Johnny Mac is a class act and I very much enjoyed my all too brief time working with him.

He is. I never really worked with the guy side by side, but whenever we passed in the halls at Citadel, he always said hello first and asked how I was doing.

RFLA, you hit the nail on the head. Matter of fact, just in the last few days I've been hearing them playing more and more CHR music on Mix, so I'm thinking they're trying to shift their focus to Hot AC. They do need to do something to take on B-97. Won't be much of a competition, but it'll give us more choices for afternoon radio.

Ditto. I think that Mix is still fairly new and they still have chances making it grow. My opinion on that station is make it sound more along the lines as the old Mix 104.1 used to sound 10 years ago. Make it 'sound' like a CHR (or high-energy Hot AC). Do fun specialty shows like Mix used to do like "Way Back Weekends" every few weekends, or "Cardio Lunch Workout" fast paced music for the lunch hour. BTW, Skid was there at Mix at the height of their popularity. IMO, he did a good job PD'ing Q-93 (KQID), and I'm sure he'd know exactly how to bring that old Mix 104.1 energy to Mix 92.3.

I was working at MetroScan and doing the morning traffic on Diva. I met McQueen right after he got to town and saw him a few times after that. Always a nice guy.

Ever since KKND was switched out there have been echos of "we can make country work" on St. Charles. That's all I was saying. If they want it that bad, who's to say they won't do it again, even if it is a dumb move. At $.83 a share, it seems to be a pattern with Citadel.
 
My vote is you can make it work.... But Citadel won't invest the money,time and manpower to switch people in NOLA
