Seems like The Arizona Socialist Republic
would try to get it right when they promote
their partner-in-crime, KPNX...but look at
the goofs in today's page B4 item:

Headline--"'Today' show to tape in Phoenix"

No, segments will be broadcast live from
Phoenix (for the east coast), not recorded
in advance, unless one is referring to the
delayed broadcast(s) of the entire show to
other time zones.

Copy--"...to be on hand for the live show
being filmed from 3 to 7 a.m."

Filmed? Is NBC still delaying the show via
kinescope? I thought they had upgraded to
video tape some years back (and then more
recently to a digital delay system). And
the live broadcast is 4-7am MST, not 3-7.

It's amazing they correctly stated that
"A delayed broadcast of 'Today' begins
at 7 a.m. here."

Other than the time, most readers won't notice the technicalities. They should hire writers older than 19.

However, the Arizona Socialist Republic is a heck of lot better than the previous Arizona Right-Wing Wacko Republic. They wouldn't even support a holiday for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. I'm glad that they finally moved into the modern era with the help of Gannett.
