ME-TV & KAZT Fun and Games

On both my Channel Master converter boxes KAZT comes in as 36.1 (KAZT), 36.2 (RTV) and 36.3 (ME-TV). On my Digital Stream converter box the three channels come in correctly as 7.1, 7.2 and 7.3.

Neither has an EPG set up but broadcast info on the DS box lists program info but is off by one hour. The CM boxes do not show any information when pressing 'info'.

Titan TV is also off by one hour in their listings of AZTV.

I welcome the addition of ME-TV but.....do these people at AZTV understand how to run a TV station?

Same thing here, on my DTV converter the program schedule display has been
one hour off. Not the usual hour later off (as in left coast feed in MT) but rather
it's an hour earlier than correct. Maybe they think we're in Alaska. ;D

I've also noticed the same goof on Titan TV, however zap2it.com is correct (that
is, the left coast feed in PT).

It appears they have fixed the PSIP scheduling issue for converters/TV's/etc. Dish Network customers with over-the-air capabilities still see "Digital Service" instead of program listings (Tribune Media must still need to send those updates to Dish).

A few observations:

  • Top of hour legal ID is about two seconds off, and cuts into program intros. Plus, it doesn't mention KAZT-CD which might be a requirement.
  • "Perry Mason" is regularly scheduled for 11:30pm, after "The Twilight Zone." KAZT airs "Mission: Impossible" in its place. This means certain Me-TV schedules could be customized either by the station or the network (or both). KNXV must still have exclusivity to PM (they were airing it overnights until they reintroduced their 4:30am newscast last month).

KNXV still airs Perry Mason Friday late nights/Saturday mornings at 1:00 AM.

It's Sunday morning here in DTV/OTA land and I'm still getting weird results on KAZT:

Scanning with my CM-7000 converter I get KAZT on 36.1, RTV on 36.2 and ME-TV on 36.3.

Channel 7.1, 2 and 3 show a 100% signal but no program. The 'info' screen does identify the station.

The channels come in correctly on my Digital Stream box.

How have KAZT screwed this up?
