ME TV-more shows coming for this great channel

ME TV keeps getting better and better. On May 6th “Leave it to Beaver”, Dragnet 1967-70” and Adam 12 join the lineup. As good as it is watching classic TV shows without truncated closings and stupid pop ups for shows I can’t stand, this network of networks is worth watching just to enjoy the well produced clever promos. I can’t wait to see what ads they come up with for “Dragnet” where many of the episodes are pure camp. I recently finished watching every “Adam 12” episode and am hoping ME TV may sign Martin Milner and/or Kent McCord to star in some of the promos.

Ah, Antenna TV has had these 3 shows lately....in fact I saw 2 Beaver eps this afternoon. Antenna TV doesn't have quite the coverage that "Me" gets.

I guess that it's the Revue/Universal library that may be being transferred. Antenna has a few of these currently----maybe Me is getting them all.

Antenna TV (at least in Miami) doesn't even show a logo bug!

cd

Antenna TV doesn't show a logo bug anywhere...company policy.

Me-TV now will have a nice little afternoon block of Jack Webb produced shows from 4-6 p.m. EST with "Dragnet", "Adam-12", and "Emergency!"

"Emergency!" I believe is the 1st ever 3rd generation spinoff - spinning off of "Adam-12" which was itself spun off off "Dragnet".

WREG in Memphis has their bug there though. It's a version of their old logo from the 60's and 70's with 3.3 as the channel number.

The local affiliates can do their own thing...I was talking about the network feed in and of itself.

Some of these old shows are non-exclusive and available on more than one Oldies sub-channel.

It's interesting that Revue-Universal shows are popping up on channels other than co-owned Cozi.

Any idea what shows will be dropped?

Wild Wild West is being pushed aside for the Dragnet/Adam-12 Hour, while it appears Daniel Boone will make way for Leave It to Beaver.

I suppose these channels have to rotate shows and they probably do some research on which shows are getting watched and which aren't. But I was disappointed when This TV all of a sudden discontinued Highway Patrol, Sea Hunt and Bat Masterson. While I didn't watch these shows frequently, I did tune in once in a while.

Unfortunately all were taken off the schedule last year and This TV only runs Green Acres, Patty Duke and Mister Ed. I'm not sure why This TV only runs three classic TV shows and fills the rest of its schedule with 60s and 70s movies. I'm also not sure why it runs several episodes of Green Acres each day, rather than throwing in an occasional Sea Hunt or Highway Patrol.

This TV is a sister network of Me TV, so they concentrate on movies so as not to step on Me's toes.

With "Highway Patrol", etc., it's probably because the rights to all those shows expired.

I hear all this talk about ME-TV and Antenna-TV but I live in an area of the country (Nashville) where we don't get either of these channels, that I'm aware of of. I did get the national feed of ME-TV when I had AT&T U-Verse, but niether of these channels are carried on one of the sub channels of any of the TV Channels here.

Bummer. You get This TV though, right (WTVF)? I'd call the parent station (if indeed This & Me are sister networks) and bug 'em!

Those are all Ziv shows. I know United Artists bought Ziv around 1960; are the shows currently owned by MGM-UA, or are they among the Turner/WB properties?
There are several other Ziv shows not run anywhere in a while: I Led Three Lives, Science Fiction Theater, Lock Up, Men Into Space...

NOPE! This is NOT the first time this has happened. I can think of at least 2 other examples:

"All In The Family" gives birth to "Maude", which, in turn, gives birth to "Good Times".

"The Danny Thomas Show" gives birth to "The Andy Griffith Show", which, in turn, gives birth to "Gomer Pyle, USMC".

I knew about the "All in the Family" tree, but that came after the Jack Webb tree was already established.

I'll give you Danny Thomas-->Andy Griffith-->Gomer Pyle, as I completely forgot that Andy spun off from Danny.

I thought the Webb tree was the 1st case of a 3rd generation spinoff, but it turns out it was Danny/Andy/Gomer.

It's easy to forget that Andy was a one-off character on "The Danny Thomas Show", which is what led to the spin-off that became "The Andy Griffith Show"

Even before there was...

Dick Powell's Zane Grey Theater > Trackdown > Wanted Dead or Alive

Four Star Playhouse* > Burke's Law > Honey West

* In the Amos Burke episode, Dick Powell played Amos Burke. The celebrity revealed and caught as the murderer was Ronald Reagan.

Another one, three 'generations' on three networks: Dick Powell's Zane Gray Theater/-The Rifleman/-The Law of the Plainsman.
A March, 1958 episode of Powell's show(on CBS) led to Chuck Connors's ABC series, which, in January of 1959, guest-starred Michael Ansara as a US Marshal in what would be a short-lived NBC drama in 1959-60.

Another group of three generation Shows more recent: Law & Order (1990-2010), Law And Order SVU (1999-present), Conviction (2006). Fred Thompson (who played Author Branch) appeared on all 3 shows.
