ME-TV now on WSAH/Bridgeport

According to my program guide on Verizon Fios, the Me-Tv network programming airs from 9am to 10pm, and 2am to 6am. Infomercials the rest of the time.

sounds like the schedule here in mass on wmfp!!! i agree i wish it was 24hrs though there are some good shows we miss because of the infomercials, its even worse onthe weekends!! with 14hrs of infomercials a day !!

Its a shame that WSAH will not show MeTv from 10pm to 2Am there are some good oldies that will be missed.

They should have at least continued through 11pm to cover primetime. The 2am to 6am block seems odd unless they just didn't sell any infomercials during that time.

I just found out that wsah still carries RTV but on 43.2.I have a feeling this is a temp move untill rtv's contract expires with wsah.Looking into getting a good OTA antenna for picking up RTV.

Why does everyone think that NRJ moving RTV to 62.2 in Boston and 43.2 in Bridgeport mean they are going to drop the network when the contracts run out?

there are several stations in the country that have both RTV and either MeTV or Antenna TV and have nothing to do with contracts running out, but with offering more programing choices - as well as revenue.

They can't get good clearances for the sub-channels if all they run are infomercials.

The only digital subchannels I know of that are carried in any meaningful way on cable are those that elected retransmission consent and have negotiated their way on to the lineup (Live Well on some ABC stations, for example).

A station like WSAH is on cable because it elected "must carry" status, which applies only to the primary station...not digital subchannels.

Verizon Fios (in my part of NJ anyway) carries a surprisingly high number of subchannels. Most of them are foreign programming from stations like WRNN and WMBC. We get others too like Antenna TV from WPIX. I guess it's not out of the question that WSAH 43.2 could eventually be carried, but WSAH would have to negotiate the carriage agreement. Does the cable company pay a fee to the the network for the rights to carry it, or would WSAH have to pay Verizon to carry the subchannel?

Here in Ct WTIC TV (FOX) carries Antenna TV on 61.2 which is carried on my local comcast lineup so its not out of the question that WSAH may be doing the same thing if comcast would be interested in carrying RTV also.Wheres Ron! I bet he would know.

In the case of WRNN, Verizon has a bit of a deal going on with them. They run their FiOS1 news operation out of WRNN. Perhaps carriage of RNN's subchannels is somehow tied in with that.

In the case of a must carry station, the station that elects must carry status is only entitled to force its primary signal onto cable.

In the case of a retransmission consent station, the sub-channels are up for negotiation. Antenna TV is owned by Tribune (which owns WPIX). It's safe to assume that carriage of Antenna TV was negotiated. THIS TV, on the other hand, is also a WPIX subchannel and does not enjoy the carriage that Antenna TV does. THIS TV is owned by Weigel Broadcasting and likely leases its channel from WPIX and isn't covered by the WPIX deal.

Doesn't Tribune own WTIC-TV? If so, then likely the same deal applies with getting Antenna on to your cable lineup. WTIC-TV, as a Fox network affiliate would generally fall into the retransmission consent category.
