Me-TV

I know this post is dated now. I thought I would add a few other changes made to Me that I like.

Rockford replaced Cannon at 10am eastern
Kojak replaced The Untouchables at 12:30 am eastern

They have The Sunday Showcase on Sunday afternoon, this is either a theme of some kind or a block of the same show. It can be good or bad, depending if you like the theme or shows on that day.

I don't dislike Cannon or The Untouchables, they needed a break however. They were getting to the point where I'd seen some episodes to many times in a year.

Me-TV needs to get rid of that Spendgoolie (how ever he spells his name) character.
That routine is so 1960s bush-league small market TV.

If Me-TV wants to air monster/horror flicks then either do it without someone dressed up for Halloween 365 days of the year or if the network wants a host then bring back Elvira.

There are people in NYC and Boston who are upset they can't see SVENGOOLIE. ME-TV New York (WZME/Bridgeport) and ME-TV Boston (WMFP/Boston) switch over to Infomercials at 10PM. (Although in Boston ME-TV is moving to WCVB and will be airing 24/7 starting this Monday).

As for Elvira although they don't any more THIS-TV used to show Elvira's Movie Macarabe (Sic)

^The correct spelling of the program with Elvira is "Elvira's Movie Macabre". Not only were stations affiliated with ThisTV broadcasting the program on a regular basis, some stations not affiliated with ThisTV were broadcasting the program regularly through syndication deals. As a result of the program being distributed through two different methods, one station in my local TV market was able to broadcast the program early Sunday morning (beginning at 12:00 a.m.) before the local ThisTV network affiliate broadcast a different edition of the program late Sunday night (beginning at 11:00 p.m.) and early Monday morning.

Me-TV partly airs Svengoolie (proper spelling) because its parent company owns the rights to the program. In Chicago, the show originally aired on WFLD, now a Fox-owned station, from 1970-73 with a revival as Son of Svengoolie from 1979-86. Me-TV parent Weigel Broadcasting then resurrected the program on its independent station WCIU in 1994. The show's been popular among viewers in the Chicago area for years, and Me-TV apparently wants to introduce Svengoolie to a wider audience outside Chi-town.

If you're looking for 1960's bush league small market horror movie schticks,
then low-powered WBGN in Pittsburgh has you covered.

I enjoy ME TV and watch is daily, but they need to get rid of most of these Dick Van Dyke shows that are on night after night, day after day. No series is in rotation has much as that show is. They must have played every episode at least 20 times now. Isn't there any other shows they can broadcast?

I am sure it's only due to audience clamor for it; otherwise it'd be on hiatus.

I don't care for Perry Mason twice a day, but there must be an audience for it. <shrug>

As to Svengoolie, the only movie of his I watched was "Horse Feathers" w/ the Marx Bros.----totally out of line with his style, and he admitted it. The schtick kinda reminds me of Count Floyd of SCTV. Awwooooooo!

I'm STILL waiting for WBBJ in Jackson, TN to get off their backsides and make ME-TV a full time subchannel. They've made empty promises but nothing has happened yet. I'm beginning to hope for WJKT in Jackson to take it away from them. :-\

I have Time Warner Cable in New Jersey and I'm happy to report they've recently given us Me TV. They're getting it directly from the source, not from a local TV station's subchannel. There is no ID at the top of the hour as we see on Antenna TV, which has a visual ID for WPIX 11.4 New York. I thought cable systems had to retransmit Me TV and these other syndicated subchannels from a real TV station.

I know NYC is supposed to be covered by a UHF station in Bridgeport CT. But according to a post above, that station, WZME, runs a lot of infomercials. The feed I see on Time Warner has no infomercials.

Unfortunately, This TV is only available to us over the air. It's also a subchannel of WPIX but Time Warner isn't carrying This TV. So if I want to catch a Bat Masterson or Highway Patrol, I have to watch a TV that has rabbit ears for over the air reception.

We're in the same situation in Los Angeles; Time Warner carries Antenna TV from KTLA, but not This TV. Our local TWC system is finally getting around to adding Me-TV (a subchannel from Anaheim-based indie KDOC), which should be available to us by Halloween morning.

I'm not expecting TWC to add Bounce TV anytime soon, especially seeing as that they're adding the Magic Johnson-backed Aspire network in a couple of months, which more or less features the same programming as Bounce.

I'm not positive about this since it is not my type of show. I think that either Retro TV or TV One has the Elvira Macabre show in their stable. I think it airs either Saturday or Sunday nights.

I don't get either of these channels, I was looking at there websites not long ago to see what I was missing, which doesn't seem like a whole lot, half the RTV schedule is infomercials, I recall seeing it listed after This TV dropped it.

If you like the show, go to their websites, or your local station if you get it and check on it.

Remember that a lot of the stations that carry Me, RTV, Fam net and other networks like these often don't carry the full network feed. This is either due to local rights to certain shows or stations that use these type of networks as fillers for times they don't want to program.

The show on RTV is "Wolfman Mac's Chiller Drive-In Theatre"-which I know airs on my local RTV station KIRO-DT2, but I'm not sure about others.

WJAR 10.2 in Providence Rhode Island carries METV 24/7.They were running a 9 oclock Newscast. In one sense I'm glad they stopped that because METV does have a strong Prime-time line up

^According to the programming schedule for America One, "Macabre Theatre" (the proper spelling) is actually scheduled to be broadcast on Saturdays between 10:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. (Eastern times).

Agreed. It doesn't even qualify for the "so bad, it's good" category or the Wayne's World category. It's more like the "let's get ripped, put on some make-up, turn on a video camera and see what happens" category. Absolutely dreadful.

Wow, do I disagree. I think Svengoolie is very creative and funny, corny, but funny. I hope he gets more movies to show. I've had ME-TV for a year now and he's rerunning movies already. I like how he gives trivia information about the movies and the actors in them. When he is running a movie that I'm interested in, I look forward to watching him.

+1 on that! Svengoolie is a great show, and it comes straight from one of the best local indies around, WCIU TV26 in Chicago. Really reminds me of the old 1960s/1970s local horror shows back in the day...
