Meanwhile, down the Thruway

Per Tom Taylor:

Rick Rambaldo’s Erie Radio Company outbids Connoisseur and Westfield Broadcasting (Charles Anderson, Scott Knoblauch, Eddie Esserman). That will pair this new Class A licensed to Westfield, NY with Rambaldo’s current top 40 “Happi 92.7”.

Winning bid was $714,000.00.

Rambaldo was a local operator that added a partner and expanded into other markets with NextMedia. He exited NextMedia when they sold Erie to Connoisseur several years ago, got into an ad agency. He got back into the game with Erie Radio Company a few years ago with a Class A in downtown Erie. The Westfield property will fill out his signal along the lake plane. Could be a simulcast is in the offing.

$714 thousand? Wow. It seems like a lot to bid for a Class A licensed to Westfield, NY, a tiny community between Fredonia, NY and Erie, PA.
