This may not be realated to the news too much but I have some ?'s to some of the media helicopter's history.

Call me crazy but I remember a long time ago a crash or a crash landing Invovling a Channel 3 helicopter and possibly Jerry Foster but noone was killed or injured. Im asking this because I found a picture of the old old chopper and I havent found any info on that aircraft beside that the N-number is now registered to a cessna now. Any info on that one?.

Also I found this picture http://www.ktxs.com/newsroom/newspics/TVchopper_crash.jpg of an old ABC15 helicopter that looks like went down into a canal bottom any info on that?

Also I was fishing around online and found somthing on a CBS 10 now Fox 10 pilot busted for DUI or Reckless driving sometime in the mid 90's....any info on that.

Or any other little interesting tidbits that you guys know would be appreciated. I know this may not be the most approiate topic but this seems to be the best place to ask. Oh and It looks like Bruce Haffner will have the new Newschopper 3 back on air by Monday evening or Tuesday morning!

There was an incident when something cough...controlled substance...cough fell out of Jerry's pocket.
Jerry: "I found it and was taking it to the MCSO" or words to that effect.
Not sure if it was when he was at 3 or 12.

Or...back when Channel 3 Total News got their first chopper...on it's return to the station from its first outing, it crash-landed (no injuries). Legend has it the V.O. footage of the wrecked bird aired by another PHX station was accompanied by the font "totalled news."

That was the original Chopper 15 (right after they had retired it and put the "new" one in service that eventually was in the tragic accident over Phoenix), while they were flying it back east to its new home. It had some mechanical problems somewhere in the middle of the country, and crashed. I don't think anyone was killed in that accident. They must have retired the "Chopper 15" name in favor of "Air 15" due to the previous name's bad luck.

By that time, he was the "King of the Wild Blue Sky" at Channel 3 (News highlight here)

KTVK had to cut all those people last week, but not the Chopper?
