If you could see some of the backhauls, they are angry off camera too, and rightfully so. They are reflecting just 1/10th of the anger on the ground. In fact, Joe Scarborough on MSNBC had some of the harshest remarks of all about this, and he's a conservative. "Remarkably," the only news organization that isn't criticizing the administration is... oh, you already know. They have reserved their criticisms exclusively for members of the Democrat party (the governor of Louisiana in particular). Otherwise, it's apologist propaganda.
Just in compiling a media list for a TV station in New Orleans, I've gotten hundreds of messages and even some phone calls from people all over the south displaced who are absolutely beside themselves. Not a single one of them has a kind word about the response from federal and state officials. The media is mild in comparison to what I am reading and hearing. The goodwill ended Tuesday night when the rape gangs showed up.

It's the job of the media to question and one thing that strikes me is how the media is able to mobilize and get into areas, yet the government seems paralized, on local, state and national levels.
Sometimes you have to remember there aren't two sides to a story. I wish more news shows would question. Many years ago we had reporters who would ASK questions, and we had politicians that would ANSWER them, without having every question pre-approved.
Granted a lot of this is for show. Have you watched A Current Affair it plays like a novel. The words are spoken soft but the language is harsh.
If one can learn anything it is that we are dreadfully unprepared to take on any national emergency, except outside of the major areas of interest, like NYC or DC.
Also no one seems to be pointing out the utter stupidity of locating so much of the oil producing area thru on point. If we ever had a war,the enemy could win by attacking a single stranglehold.
Let's hope no only does the media ASK harsh questions but someone tries to answer them.

If anybody happened to hear the interview with the mayor of New Orleans done by WWL (and replayed all morning on CNN Friday), you'd hear one angry man. Even a few profanities (bleeped on CNN).
This ain't the media folks, this is the people talking.
And I wonder if Bush and the Congress, who hauled ass back to Washington for Terri Schiavo, aren't bothering to hustle to help New Orleans because it's just po' black folk affected.

Add Sheperd Smith to that list. Not everyone at Fox is an apologist.
