Me! I got one today(Sunday) at Tweeter and am enjoying it! For the most part I'm able to get the HDs and HD-2s, but do have some issues with a few. Is there a GOOD FM only Atteana that I can use in a Apartment? The one I have was made for TVs primarly and it was one of those Cheap BLEEP ones.

Do you need to go with an inddor antenna? Or can you go outdoor?
 
I'm in the Orange County area of Los Angeles(I'm near the coast), so I say i'm about 30 miles from the Mount Wilson complex(that is where our Full Market FMs are for the most part, some FMs and all the AMs are scattered around.)

I'm looking for something indoor, yes.

Oh IBOCRocks, I guess he needs a good FM antenna - maybe, he could hook into the antenna farm on top of his apartment building ! Yea, all for HD Radio/IBOC (oh boy, AM/FM radio), he is now $600 poorer. Hey, he could have bought a nice $50 Satellite Radio boom-box, with two 2-year subscriptions, with up to 170 channels and no commercials (not just garbage local radio) for the same price !

Oh boy, just like IBOCRocks, I am glad you are enjoying your HD Radio experience ! :D Oh boy, AM/FM radio !

I'd be a little disapointed if my $600 radio had trouble with picking up full power stations that are 30 miles away, HD or not. A $12.00 clock radio from WalMart does nearly as well with an analog signal. I'm sure the Polk Audio radio sounds a lot better though...
 
Clarification.

I don't have trouble picking up analog, it was the AM HD/FM HD-2s that I was inquiring about if there's a good Antenna.

Well, that’s the rub then. The HD signals are only good to the station's 64 dbu contour, which evidently doesn't make it to the inside of your house. A decent analog radio usually works well in the 50 dbu contour, and sometimes they are OK with even less signal.

If your local Radio Shack still has them, their outdoor FM Yagi is decent for $25.00 It will probably help your reception quite a lot. Too bad they are discontinuing it. Winegard makes a very good FM antenna in the $110 or so price range. You will need mounting hardware and coax cable as well. Budget $50 more or less for that.

So far, I haven't found a really good indoor FM antenna that beats an easy to make folded dipole. Some audio purists like the active units such as those made by Terk and others. Be sure to get return privileges if you buy one, since it may work great in your application. Then again, it may not.

Another proud owner of an I-Sonic, also out $600 - from the "sister site" HD board:

What wonderful "technology" - oh, I think it is the IBOC system ! Try mounting a dipole antenna in the attic (where IBOCRocks has his hidden), or on the roof ! Funny thing, that both the Receptor HD and Polk I-Sonic have reception problems - oh, I think it is the IBOC system ! :D
 
Neither of these radios have reception problems, they have selective tuners which is a good thing where I am. If were more sensitive I'd only get the stations from the nearby antenna farm.
 
Both of these radios have reception problems - blog after blog, has confirmed this. Also, the Receptor HD is now being shipped with a 7-foot dipole antenna, because of reception problems (obvioulsy, due to lies in the IBOC system itself).

I must say the I-Sonic is the best radio I've ever listenned to hands down!

I guess the philosphy is that if you can't counter an arguemnt with facts acting like an infant is always an alternative. Thank heavens you (obviously) aren't in professional broadcasting. We have enough troubles without your idiocy. Actually I should listen to my collegues and not bother with you. I think they are correct.

Yeah, I love the repeating of the "7-foot dipole" mantra. We've more than proven that he's twisted the facts. It's OK - we know the truth! ;D

One more time. The radio ships with a 7-foot dipole in case you need it.

I have one of these radios and do not need the dipole! The radio DOES NOT need the dipole to function unless you are in a fringe area!

That's all I'll say on the subject. I'll leave the lies for the other side...
 
If you look at our "sister site" you will see examples of reception problems, even with the 7-foot dipole antenna. No wonder, the public is not interested in HD Radio and that the Receptor HD radio is ranked 5,000 in Amazon's electronic sales:

We were told back in the beginning that the HD coverage would be equal to the analog signal. I am still waiting for one valid point from you. The men in the white coats are waiting!! I figure since you can post the same stuff OVER AND OVER, I can do the same thing. Whats the difference?
 
He may be on to something. I've heard a rumour that you need electricity to run those radios too. Wow!!!
