MEGA 107.5 ON THE SCENE

So I run into a Fiesta grocery store on the east side of town today, and there's Mega 107.5 doing a "live" remote. No bumper stickers, no pens, no koozies, no t-shirts, no freebies...and the only pen laying there says "JACK-FM" on it. Again, poor planning and a pitiful attitude towards promotions by CBS. Never saw what the prize was for throwing a bean bag through a hole...probably a leftover 10-yr old CD out of the (likely) still-packed Oasis Prize Closet at Fitzhugh. Hope Fiesta didn't have to pay for all that "great" exposure. And, unless the 17-yr old Hispanic kid running the bean bag contest was the "talent," there wasn't a station talent anywhere to be found.

How's that station doing with PPM? I don't never hear anybody talk about this station much.

Well I tell this, MEGA keeps throwing in Englsh language artists like Usher, Lady Gaga, David Guetta, Black Eye Peas etc. Jeffdfw is right, they're on life support.

Just "Amp" the dang frequency already! Look, we've had three, even four stations with the same format in this market before, (93.7,97.9,104.5,&106.7 all hip hop at one time). That just makes everyone step up their game and it makes for good competition. It also benefits the listener in several ways.

I agree, we need AMP.

La Kalle plays English language artist too.

Speaking of La Kalle, didn't Mega's morning host used to be in La Kalle, but the one in San Francisco?

Since when did La Kalle started playing English language artists. They never did, except on their mix shows.

I don't know if they do it in Dallas, but Univision Top 40 usually play some English language music. La Kalle in San Francisco, KQ105, and even Spanish Tropical X 96.3 play English language music.

KQ105 has played English language CHR hits since it went Top 40 on AM in 1968... and as do most CHRs in Latin America.
