Mega 94.9

Clear Channel flipped it's new Spanish station in Philly back to an English language format. The reason, they say, is that with the PPM, Spanish was not going to cut it. They know that, when using diaries, minority formats do better. Better diary return. But it wont be that way with the people meter.

That said, and with so many Spanish-language stations in South Florida, do you think CC will bail on 94.9?

Minority formats can and do fare as well in PPM as in the diary, especially when there is a big cume potential... something Philly did not have for Spanish.

Hispanics typically are underperfrming diary returners. And diary returns does not influnence ratings, since all cells are weighted if the sample is over or under quota.

Check who two of the top 5 staitons in Houston are... hint: they are not in English.
