Mega 95.5 Flipping?

The domain 955NowChicago.com was recently registered and transferred to Clear Channel's server. I guess they're bitter about 101.9 catching up to V103 at the top of the ratings, so they're fighting fire with fire.

And they also registered 955ElPatron, so the issue is whether it will be a different Spanish language format, an English language format or just a smoke screen.

As a Spanish expression say, "The threat of war has no victims."

Re: NOW 95.5?

I could see it. They did it with Mix 102.9 here in Dallas/Ft. Worth. It's now Adult CHR "102-9 Now".

Mega's ratings are abysmal, and it has no good cluster mates for sales purposes.

I think we'll see either an Adult CHR / Hot AC (akin to the one recently launched in Dallas) or a Modern AC / Modern Rock hybrid on that frequency soon. The sole purpose will be to yank listeners away from Mix to help 93.9 and 103.5.

Wish they could switch back to Smooth Jazz...

Re: NOW 95.5?

WNUA posted a 1.8 Rating which was just about the same rating when it was Smooth Jazz. The WTMX is at 5.0 and doing very well. If WNUA doesn't try to take away listeners from WTMX, they will be missing a great opportunity.
WLIT has no identity exact as the Holiday Lite!

Me too. I know they can't. :-X

An Adult AC format would earn them a return to my presets (I, too, enjoyed the Smooth Jazz music, even at 87.7, but don't expect its return to radio).

Why can't they?

The audience is mostly over 45, and in PPM the ratings are much lower for the format than they were in the diary.

Check how many smooth jazz stations are left in the 48 PPM markets.
