Mega changes?????

Today I heard mega play a song from La Mafia, ( Me estoy enamorando hoy de ti) and I also have heard them play some Selena. I even heard mega play some cumbias, does this mean Mega is trying to be a mex station, playing, bachata, regaton, hip hop, tejano and Mexican????

This has been on for a while now. They do play Selena or La Mafia, but not a lot. Like one spin a day.
But I don't know how long that will last, maybe weeks ??? As you saw, they are shaking Mega up within the next week. I haven't heard of this any where else but here. Well, we'll have to tune in and hear.

Well I have noticed that they are playing alot of the same music that OX 107.9 is playing.

And also they are not that bilingual as they used to be, I remember they played hip-hop, and music, like Pit Bull, J-lo black eyed peas, and more in english. And Reggaton, but now that is all stoping, and instead of saying mega one O one, latino and proud, they are saying mega ciento uno, orgullosamente latino. Whats up with that??

My bet is with Viva. Unless they come up with a "supposed" new concept like they tried with Mega. (maybe going for a more Spanish Pop sound or something like MVS's Exa?)

As is sometimes the case, formats that are copies of pre-existing formats often get killed when the "real thing" comes to town. La Preciosa is simply an adaptation, made in about 2004 in Salinas, of the format that had been on the air since early 2000 in LA on KRCD & KRCV. Since there was nothing similar in Salinas, the copy got very good ratings... so the format was rolled out to other markets.

If that translates into Bring Back A Quality Rock Format on KLOL, I'll second that. (and I know it doesn't, I don't speak or understand Spanish fluently, but I know it's a slam on Walton & Johnson).

And today I saw for the first time a a sign of 1560 am, and also I saw, well I just glanced at a sign that said Walton & that other guy, and I think it said on Disney radio 950 am.
