If that translates into Bring Back A Quality Rock Format on KLOL, I'll second that. (and I know it doesn't, I don't speak or understand Spanish fluently, but I know it's a slam on Walton & Johnson).

I need to freshen up on my Spanish, I guess. It was kind of a slam on Walton and Johnson, but moreso a slam on the station formerly known as KLOL. This is why I called it The Dead 101 KLOL. Because that's exactly what it's been for most of us since November 04. My wit has crashed and burned. I think I'll stick to English. ;D
 
CC has chosen their new pd who will lead the new staff of jocks and the changes comming soon to KLOL ..... Anyone care to take a guess who this new pd will be?

So, will Raffy take the format into the Rumba direction, or just refresh the current format and roster with a new name to the station? I am assuming they will not be changin their target audience. We'll have to wait and see what happens.

CLEAR CHANNEL Tropical WKOX (RUMBA)/BOSTON PD RAFFY CONTIGO will segue to sister Latin pop KLOL (MEGA)/HOUSTON, where he'll be the PD who succeeds BOBBY RAMOS. CONTIGO officially starts at MEGA, which just tweaked from Latin Rhythmic to Latin Pop, on SEPT. 14th.

MIGUEL MIGUEL will take over as PD of RUMBA/BOSTON.



I bet you he relanuches the station from mega to rumba ?
 
nope sorry the station will not be called rumba but the name will change! and the slogan will be .....tan joven como tu!

So no target audience change? OK, so Rumba is eliminated, The Romantica format is out, Defenetly No Preciosa, El Patron? Not even close. So this new slogan, will it start being applied to other stations (IE Mega 94.9,) and will new stations start poping out with this new name in other markets? (possibly replacing a couple of Preciosas?)

I'm just assuming it will change the name and slightly change musically wise.

i do have the name and im closer to this project then you would like to belive but i just dont want to give it away so easily but yeah dont worry its not a incredible name but it wont be MEGA for long!

Like a name is going to make a station better. Right.

If there is good talent, good music and good promotion and marketing, you could call it Asparragus 101.1 and it would be successful.

Yes radio has more then one area that needs to be great but i find it hard to belive you would consider anyone talented that is not already working for UNIVISION!

There are plenty of talented people working in Spanish language radio at organizations like Entravision, SBS, Liberman, Border Media, UnoRadio Group... even Salem!

wasn't Rafi in Denver and Albuquerque at the Mega stations before Boston? Didn't both of those stations go under?

Yes... and a quick look at the Arbitrons would tell you that WKOXKS in Boston isn't long for the world either.
