Mega leaving the FM in a few days =(

They posted an announcement on their Facebook page. Can anybody explain why after barely 2 weeks, they have to shut down their FM signal?

Their facebook post says, "Some sad news Mega fans - our deal to remain on FM has fallen through, so we will be leaving 102.7 in the next day or so. But Mega is not going away! Your response to us has been AMAZING and we ask for your continued support through our stream and on HD radio. Please help us spread the word that Mega LIVES at 103.5HD2 and at www.megahd2.com"

WTF? I love listening to the new Mega. I'd rather listen to Mega than any other radio station owned by Emmis Austin, like KGSR, KLBJ and 107.1 La Zeta. ... (except for bob and 101x)

Mega should be placed back on an analog full power signal!

I agree I have heard a lot of people that are pissed about this especially new listeners that have just started listening to it. I say call and complain or tell them to flip one the other stations to Mega. Im tired of Austin only having one CHR station and one Hip hop station, neither of which I listen to.

Wow ... this sucks. I've heard a lot of people talking about Mega and I actually heard it playing the other night in a sandwich shop. They do have the FM signal KLBJ-AM is using available to them ... tho the consensus on here seems to be that that's gonna be the second frequency for KGSR so it can better cover the south side of the city. Wonder what happened to make them lose 102.7 just a week or so after they launched???

What will replace Mega? They said the deal didn't go through? I thought Emmis bought 102.7 already? Hopefully they bring it back on 99.7 I rather have weak signal than no signal on FM.
Hell, I rather them flip KGSR if that is what it would take to keep Mega on the radio.

Did some digging online and it shows The Oldies K274AX Austin 60s and 70s. Well having a listenable Oldies stations in NW Austin is not bad, hope if Mega 102.7 flips it's it is to The Oldies because I can tolerate that change since Super Songs of the 70s doesn't come back until after Christmas. But please Emmis keep this station on analog radio because nothing beats analog and a Quadraphonic receiver to listen to it on ;D http://streema.com/radios/The_Oldies_K274AX

Correction that was what it used to be KITY/KOTY out of Llano & Marble Falls. I wish I knew when the change will take place, right now I am recording it on a 6 hour blank DVD.

Thats no good, well at least it's still on HD Radio.

Megas last song I like that. Signed off in the middle of it at 12:06 AM. Aicheck dubbed onto DVD, can't wait until I get an HD Radio Walkman for XMAS. Hearing Biggie Smalls or something... weak signal of 102.3 The Beat is what is on right now.

I know Krash Kelly is reading this, who's bright idea was it to put Mega on FM just to take it away in less than two weeks. BOO!

KGSR Sucks! There I said it!

Why take Mega, Emmis? Why? KGSR has the strongest FM signal in the state. Why the hel do they need a translator too?

Didn't anyone find it peculiar that Mega always said 103.5 HD 2 when it was on 102.7 and pushed people to their stream? Sounds like a marketing ploy to me. Obviously people are still talking about it so it must have worked.

Oh ... and the additional frequency for KGSR is supposed to fix issues people in south Austin were reporting.
