The week of January 12th of 2008 cant come soon enough for fans of real music and real radio. Mega media group is flipping from paid Russian music programming to Pulse 87.7 FM on the radio dial and video on low power TV Chanell 6. Check out the website at Pulse87.com. With morning show hosted by contraverial and legendary djs Star and Buc Wild this station will broadcast a top 40, rock, hiphop, and dance format. But the difference with this new station is that it will be catering to different crowds at different times evenings will be more towards teens playing top 40 and nights playing just dance music. The only drawbracks to this station is that the frequency isnt so strong so Jersey probably wont recieve the station.

I dont think many people at all will find this station unless the promote it to death. Nobody turns their dial down that far except for adventures College Radio Fans. Can the time shift thing work in America????? Many stations in europe timeshift to either Dance/ Soft Rock/ Eclectic, Retro, or Chill at night, so we will have to wait and see if the heavy timeshifting can work here. LIR had some success with LIR Afterhours so it may have a shot if anyone knows the station is even there.

More people are check out the left part of the dial than you think.. Just look at Philly's PPM number. Two Non-coms in the book. They are becoming more popular because of the crap thats on the right side of the dial

Good Point, but many radios dont tune down past 87.9, and 87.7 is so far to the end of the dial that some analog tuners that might be slightly out of alignment might also not be able to tune down to 87.7... Ive seen many many many analog receivers that wont turn down that far due to improper alignment usually from the factory. Ive even seen tuners that wont tune past 107.5 on the other end of the dial... Not trying to be negative or nothing, I have my fingers crossed for the success of Pulse 87, but im not counting any chickens before they are hatched. Didnt they try Reggeaton on that Freq a year or two ago when Hurban was hot and it did nothing on that Freq, until the format moved to LA-KeIL 105.9, or whatever its called?

Regaeton was on 92.7 not 87.7. WLIR was a success with the afterhours programming. The only problem i have with Pulse is that most of long island is unable to tune it in from my own testing.

One note...because Star had a recent liver transplant and is recovering, the launch has been pushed up to February 4th.

Do note, even though the station will have some dance music on there, there will also be CHR and Hip-Hop as well. Still better than what we have now but the Pulse will not be ALL dance.
