MEGA

Hope it means a format change...

Old Chicago

I doubt that there will be a format change for Mega. It was Clear Channel's number two station in the Houston Market in 7th place. KODA Sunny 99 is CC's #1 station and the #1 station. Mega from a 12+ rating point of view is very healthy and it must be doing well in other demos to pull a near 4 rating. Mega was a wise move on the part of CC.

Considering their numbers were better than anything Rock 101 had on in the last 10 years or so, I don't think he'd really have much to say. It's called a station evolving... something the cretans who just luuuuhhhhhve the "old days" of Rock 101 never bothered to do.

If their numbers were so great, why did they can them and move that greasy haired Bo Corona to that slot? I agree they were never willing to do anything with Rock 101, if they had it would still exist. I think it's funny that W&J have managed to stay in the houston Market for 5 years, chico and rascal made it only to two. Maybe it's because no one wants hear chico and rascal flip back and forth randomly from spanish to english.

I Spy...

I spy someone who is still mad about Rock 101 being shut down.

Get Over it!

And so, life moves on. (Hopefully you do as well) ;D

Re: MEGA IS THE BEST

MEGA consistenly proves that,"the Houston audience is now being served."

Rock is dead. I've been saying that for a long time.

I bet Clear Channel could have pumped millions of dollars, brought in a new playlist with current rock songs, stopped voice tracking and no one would have listened.

Stop whining.

I'm not whining, I'm just stating facts. You touted Chico and Chucklehead as the greatest thing to happen to Houston Radio and a "historic day for Houston and Mega 101", when they arrived here some two years ago, and now they are gone, Walton and Johnson are still here. Was I upset when 101 flipped? Yes. Am I still upset? No. It's corporate radio, it happens. Does your BS and constant screwing around with people, praising MEGA still piss me and and others off who were upset about the flip? NO WE ARE OVER IT!

It really doesn't sound like you are really over it. The Mexicanz had better numbers that Walton & Johnson did on KLOL, but their numbers trailed the rest of the station. plus, if you would have ever listened to them, for the most part they spoke zero Spanish on their show. Not to mention they were hired one consultant and 2 PD's ago...
