Why is MEGA playing "Moves Like Jagger"? They played it a few moments ago. Isn't that a Top 40 song?

It is, but for some reason, it's popular in the Spanish-speaking community...even though it is an English-speaking song.

According to the Wikipedia page (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moves_Like_Jagger), it has peaked #7 in Bilboard's "US Latin Pop Songs" chart so far. So don't be surprised if you also hear this on "107.9 La Kalle".

Additionally, there are several other "Top 40" hits that are/were popular in the "Latin Pop Airplay" category. Such as:

- "Nothin' On You" by B.o.B. ft. Bruno Mars
- "Stereo Love" by Edward Maya
- "Good Life" by OneRepublic
- "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO
- "Mr. Saxobeat" by Alexandra Stan
- "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion
- "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love" by Usher ft. Pitbull

Plus english-language songs from Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull, Shakira, Gloria Estefan, Selena, and a dozen others.

LaKalle is no longer on 107.9

Mega is a Top 40 station.

"Even though?"

CHR / Pop / Top 40 stations (there is no Spanish term for CHR, and the term "Top 40" was really only used at all in the past in Spain) in Latin America generally play some / quite a bit / a lot of English language pop material. So it would not be at all unusual for an Hispanic station to play songs in English.

On a recent trip to Italy, I noticed that the vast majority of songs played on Top 40 type stations were in English.

You hear "Moves Like Jagger" on Digital 107-3 down here in Laredo at least once an hour. Latinos love it and it is growing on me to.

You also hear it (as well as the remixed "dance" version) on KBPA-HD2 in Austin.
