Word is original 98.1 Max DJ Megan White is leaving quickly. She is getting married and moving out of town. There is already a job posting for her position. I thought she was good. Wish the best to her. What should the Max do? Should they revamp and try to be more edgier now?

We've had a lot of discussions about if there's room for two of this and that, but I don't think both 98 and 103 can survive. That said, I don't know what I would do with 98 if they stay with that format. I think the Cat had a chance but they didn't give it long enough. As far as the classic rock format, the best thing 103 could do is hire Bev back and bury the hatchet with Drake and Zeke and bring them back as well...but I hear it's still pretty warm in Hades...

She is moving to Savannah, Ga., and I agree, she was good.
I say give Jar the afternoon shift. That would be a hoot.

They have Danni former DJ from 107.5 on weekends and has filled in for Megan a couple of times. I think there is another weekend person. As far as day shifts, yes, it only leaves the morning show and the PD afterwards.
I saw this on her myspace page, it looks like Leslie Wolf is on weekends on Rock 103. She would be a good choice. Who I like to see is Sydney from 92.9. I think she would move into the shift nicely.

I have no knowledge other than my mind and speculation, so don't take anything I say as corporate stance....
I get the feeling that there would be inserted a completely new morning show before they bring Bev back.

I listened to them several months after D & Z left.. They just didn't do nothing for me.. I also gave up on D & Z in the mornings.. I guess i'm getting old.. I liked it the way it was and i don't like change..lol.. I spend my mornings now listening to Glen Beck and afternoons with Dave Ramsey...

Megan was good. I just hate the lack of identity 98.1 has. Are they competing with 103 (whose ratings also suck these days) or 93X. Their music selection is piss poor. Heck 98.1 won't even update their webpage. Megan is young and was a real talent. She did come across as a bit too much of a sex kitten in my opinion, but Leslie Wolf did that for years at 103 despite knowing very little about classic rock music. I once requested Uriah Heep to Leslie and she had to get me to spell it for her and then dispute if there was really a band by that name.
I agree that the Cat could have worked. I still contend that if a station played more of the hard rock stuff but stuck to the 70's (aka early Judas Priest, Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent etc) and the 80's hair bands and hard rockers (Poison, Dio, etc) and then threw in a few new songs by the older rockers who still cut albums like the Scorpions, Cooper, Ozzy, etc. it could make a better run at it than the current format. The audience might not be huge but it would be consistent and provide a true alternative to Crock 103.
I just can't listen to Drake and Zeke anymore.

megan was a dime a dozen. She won't be missed by me. She's not original in any way. You could get more out of a waitress at perkins on poplar. I agree Jarman is the answer to everything. He's young and dumb and brings in a ton of money everywhere he works. People are going to riot if he doesn't surface soon. He could take baddog's place right now. Is it me or does fatdog laugh at every little thing he says. It is almost so boring its funny. Tim is just as bad. He is bad ..I mean really get off the air with your **** sure attitude.

my $0.02 which after conversion = $0.01 ... play Pantera/Metallica/Ozzy 10a-12midnight. Then Midnight-5am 80's trendy rock (Ratt, Poison, Dokken, .38 Special, W.A.S.P., etc)5a-10a D+Z ...call it 'Music Ta Spit Your Chew To'. Change the station logo to a pick up w/a sleeveless shirted guy driving.

My mom subscribes to The Fayette Falcon. My mom grew up in Somerville. Megan's wedding announcement is in the paper. Funny the last name White is also a stage name, but close to the real one.

In my opinion, while Leslie tried to pull off the sex kitten act but Megan succeeded.... besides knowing her music and that little "growl" she put in her voice, her layout in Maxim was gorgeous.... she has a bright future ahead.
