Mel Andrews on WSUS

Anyone ever listen to his overnight show on 102.3 WSUS? He is one of the most boring jocks I've ever heard. His voice is also, not that fit for radio.
______________

him lately. I'm sure he'll read your comments.
Mel used to work with us at WFPG.

I would have to agree. Seems like a normal, nice guy, but boring. But hey, it is an AC station. Just clean, simple, and not too exciting. His voice is ok, but sometimes he slurs, but nothing against him. I slur too anyway, lol.

radiolover78...what accomplishments do you have in radio? I am curious. What makes you an expert on the subject? Also, I have read your comments on me in the past. Did you notice the ratings? Instead of being mean spirited and bitter, why not be constructive? Could you please let me know what you have done in radio? Did you make it on the air in NYC? One more thing, what is yuor real name and were do you work? I used my real name in case you did not notice, but then again I am not a coward.

Sheesh! Can't a guy (radiolover) have an opinion? A bit harsh, yeah, but c'mon what else is this board for?

Agreed, radiolover78 is just giving his opinion this is America. Zach lighten up a little bit calling radiolover78 a coward is immature and thin skinned on your part.

Zach, I am not going to lie. I have so far no accomplishments in radio, because I am only a teenager. I have a lot to learn about this business. I will be a little more constructive. Mel, who seems like a nice guy, has a boring show (in my opinion) and there are ways it can be more entertaining. Add more personality to it. Don't just talk about station shows and promotions. Talk about the weather or talk about something that is going on, talk a little about themselves. If he has strict orders, then thats different, but other jocks on WSUS seem to add more personality to their shows. This is what I think. I am entitled to my opinion. Also Zach, you seem like you can't take a little criticism. Not everyone will like you when on the radio. Now, have a nice day and good luck with your show. No hard feelings.
______________

Sorry if I came across harsh, but I don't like when people write about others saying, "He or she does not deserve or belong to have a job in radio." Don't you think that is harsh? "One of the most boring?" Well, like someone else posted, it's an AC station. If a jock sounds a certain way, than perhaps the PD should take the credit or blame.
I believe anyone with enough practice, and the right coaching can become great
radio people. A person just must want to be the best! I can take critism when it's constructive, but to be fair, there are always negatives and positives in every situation.
My best to all,

Zach

> Zach you showed alot of class with this response. Radiolover78 is still a kid so let's teach and nuture his love for radio. As for Mel Andrews I like him but you are correct the PD could be directing his on air style, that has happened to me over the years.

I understand what you are saying. I was just making a post. I guess it does come off as harsh saying someone shouldn't be in radio and I apologize. We may disagree on issues and when I may say something, from now on I will be more constructive. I'll actually say you taught me a little something today Zach! Good job. I will make mistakes, but learn from them and this was a mistake I learned from.
