MEL

If mel is serious about keeping subscribers, he'll shy away from running spots.

the merger has nothing to do with whether mel runs spots or not.
the shows that sirius and xm now carry-run commercials. they're national spots - so sirius has to run spots. they're clearing their spots.
it's like in local radio when you are running a football or baseball feed from westwood one and they take a national break - you've got to run the break to clear their spots. get it?
