meltdown on channel 2 last evening

I was visting my parents and they just bought a HDTV and I watched the 5-7pm newscast on channel 2 in HD and it looks so much better. There was a major technical glitch at 7pm leading into the special of the lighting of the Great tree at Lenox mall. It was over a minute of weird screens with abc graphics mixed in. Then the program launced as I was watching 2.1 for the digital signal but was suprised they did not do that program in HD. The live reports during the evening news from the event were done in HD yet the special program was not. Channel 2 does have the best looking HD newscast in town but 11's is getting better.

The funny thing was the fill-in anchor ended the 6pm news asking everyone to stay tuned for ABC World News with Charles Gibson, though he spent the last 2 hours of the newscast talking about the tree lighting and the hour special that would cover it right after the newscast.
 
WSB-TV has a bad habbit of on air mess ups. Between the four channels that do news in Atlanta, channel 2 seems to have more miss cues, wrong pictures, etc.

Specifically, I remember watching the 6PM news last Thanksgiving (2005) and they had bad glitches going from the news to the tree lighting program.
