I know this is late, but I also wonder if anyone else knows of this, but I found out just today that one of the co-managers of WLLY, a Mrs Nancy, as most would have known her, died about a month ago. I did not know this until I decided to listen to WLLY 1350 the last few days to see how it was sounding, and noticed Nancy was not on the air. She is always on the air in the mornings. So after a few days, I figured to call, and when I did, I was told that she had passed away. This is significant because I helped her get the station back on track after the late Wallace Bullock passed away a few years ago. Up until then it was only Wallace Bullock and her, and until his death, she knew very little outside of playing the music. The reason why this is imporant is because she told me that the owners of WLLY was considering changing the format, but made a verbal promise to Nancy that as long as she worked in the station, they would not change the format, likely to a hispanic station. With her now gone, the station may have well been given to the other guy, which sadly is not a very good manager at all. Nancy quite literally worked herself to death, because even at her age, and with health issues, she was faithful to work every day, and did far more work there than Mr. Farmer, who new nothing about radio when the owners needed someone to fill in as a co-manager. I wonder if this is a bad sign for the station....anyone hear anything else on this?
